I thought I would try the Dark Side, but I never liked CP/m. We have ways to
get our Model Ts to talk to the computers we all have on our desks. Why
torture them to do more?

Hi Philip,
Depending on the version of NADSBox firmware you have, you can already
tell it to switch to 76,800 baud rate. This can be done either from a
command line or via an extended TPDD protocol packet (version 1.16).
From the command line, you would type one of the following:
baud
Right, I need to go over to the dark side & use command line interface
;-) I shall attempt that.
What would be ultimately cool is use TBACK technology, ie a baud rate of
78,000 approx. As file sizes could be large (100KB or even full
REX/Remem Ram of 2MB), this would be useful. How feasible

Yes, NADSBox supports it. It will auto-detect the 8.3 format for
received packets and switch to that format. Or there is a persistent
config option that can be set to enable it all the time (no auto-detect
switching needed).

Thanks for doing that testing!
Off the fop of my head I would say not. It has been a while since I looked
at the code but if REX is automatically switching to a bad ROM image on
power up..out of luck.
Sounds like an emergency switch is needed.
I personally don't like rom replacement. It is prone

I should clarify that I can already think of a couple of 'sledgehammer' methods
for fixing this, ie. Re-doing the 4.9 REX software load process apparently
leaves the main ROM blocks alone, and
Thanks John & Willard. My aim is for M100 CP/M to import/export using
common TPDD emulators of today, namely NADSBox, Laddiecon, mComm.
Perhaps if CP/M finds traction in the M100 community, Laddiecon & mComm
could be changed to handle 8.3 format as well. Probably a bit late to
change the
