John, et al, Uber has coverage for you, your vehicle and passenger(s) on a ride. Not on a run then you are just driving, no different than a Sunday drive on River Road to see that yet still, Walsh is NOT nearly finished. At this rate it will be next Winter before they are done. Richard

Richard, are you saying your personal insurance covers you while in a Comercial for pay transaction? Do Uber drivers have no coverage from Uber while transporting? If not, many drivers are in for a rude surprise if in an accident & depending on their personal policies to cover them. John

Yes you have to send in a copy of your insurance card/paper and it has an expiration date. Have to resend when you get it renewed. If you don’t they turn your Driver App off and you can’t get rides. And a copy of your drivers license front and back, and get your car inspected and send in the

Tipping is NOT done inside the App. If you ride Uber then you can tip in cash if you want. Lyft has the tip ability IN their app. I have NEVER given less than 5 stars for not tipping. In fact there has been only two rides out of the hundreds I have given that was less than 5 stars. Should

Check with your insurance company on coverage….When opening the App you are still covered by the company I represent, once a ride has been arranged the coverage goes to Uber and stays with them until the rider leaves the vehicle, then we pick up the coverage…I can see coverage questions coming

Either way, you're getting an unlicensed freelance cab driver. If you're comfortable with that, you're probably fine either way. Customers rate drivers and drivers rate customers, so lack of history may figure into what you get in the way of a driver. Uber caught political flak over the weekend
