In particular, what variant are you trying to build +quartz or +x11. The fact that you are having to rebuild multiple times makes me think that its +quartz. Is this correct? In addition, we need a clean copy of your build log to observe the particulars of the failure. Please do the following: sudo port clean webkit2 sudo port install webkit2 The command port logfile will tell you where to find the logfile we're looking for. Please attach it to your reply. Or better yet open a ticket and attach the log file there. Do one of these correspond to the problem you're seeing? That's not really useful, but I assure you that the webkit-gtk-2.0 port aborts on Sierra with a "not supported" message, and this will not be "fixed". Perhaps you are not seeing this message because a dependency is causing the failure. In any case, try using one of the WebKit2 ports. vq ___ macports-users mailing list macports-users@lists.macosforge.org https://lists.macosforge.org/mailman/listinfo/macports-users
Re: webkit-gtk2: Will it ever be fixed?
Thanks for posting your worries instead of just giving up. I will leap here to assume you actually do want help to get this to work, and you're not just venting frustration. You have to realize that with the kind of information you've volunteered so far, no-one on Earth is likely to be able to help you. Please consider first of all searching for an existing ticket that explains your issue in the Macports tickets (https://trac.macports.org/wiki/Tickets). There likely is one. If there is not a ticket that represents your issue, then open a ticket yourself. Be accurate about the name of the port. Upload the build log, mentioned in every error report. Let us have a look. If you were to do those things, there is a very reasonable chance one of the dozens of kind-hearted souls who hang out around here will help you solve the issue, whatever it might be! webkit-getk2: Will it ever be fixed?
Since my upgrade to macOS sierra I tried compiling and installing webkit-gtk2 for weeks, again and again. Even though I got a new version every time, it still fails to build. Will it ever be fixed? I find it so disturbing that I always come across broken ports. If a build fails, please don't distribute it via port upgrade until fixed. :( ___ macports-users mailing list macports-users@lists.macosforge.org https://lists.macosforge.org/mailman/listinfo/macports-users
