Yes, there is a way you can remove the voices. I'm going to paste in
instructions.
Using Finders great Go to Folder feature of Command+Shift+G enter the
following path:
/System/Library/Speech/Voices/
You'll see a list of voices, but notice they come in two formats: Voice and

I second that about not giving up. We forget how much trouble it was to learn
Windows and any other technology we aound ourselves learning. I have had to
learn so many new ones that I'm beginning to lose count. I have found that I
have finally gotten to the place where I can say,
I set up Ical alerts and when they pop up, I can't make them go away.
Any suggestions.

I have solved my Drop Box problem. Steve was correct in saying that you need
to install Drop Box outside of the apps folder. What I did was, locate the DMG
file, I opened it and when presented with the .app file, instead of copying it
to the apps folder, I instead opened it and was presented

may be some kind of glitch with Siri and voice over. I say that because I

For the original poster: if you don't have a USB sound card for this
purpose, they can be gotten for under $10 (though, of course, the
quality will suffer). Others know more about this than I do, but there
are also virtual options like SoundFlower or Virtual Audio Cable.

If you mean going into the recovery partition, that's accessible with
voiceover. I had to do that once to reinstall lion after the software update

So, are you all saying that the dropbox installer now works with VoiceOver as
