Well, I contacted the vendor and found out two things: 1. TextWrangler has been replaced with the free version of BBEdit. 2. The main window will not work with VoiceOver and they have no plans to change that. BBEdit say they can't use the standard text tools in Cocoa and they seemed uninteresting

Usually when this happens to me it is because I didn't really have something selected, or else keyboard focus was somewhere compeltely different from voiceover focus. If you notice this right away using the command-Z keystroke should restoer you to prior to the paste. I could make a 1 line
