Hi Angus, On your iphone go to settings/messages and make surre iMessages is on, and to the right text messages is on. Activate text messages button and approve your imac. There will be a code sent to your imac which you then have to enter into your iphone. I found that bit a bit tricky.

It sounds like you don't have all your devices set p to receive from all your addresses and numbers. On iOS, go to Settings Messages, and find the place near the bottom where all the emails and numbers tied to your Apple ID are. Make sure they are all selected. On the Mac, go to the Messages

The people I iMessage have all my email addresses and my phone number stored in the same contact on their devices. This way, all messages always come from me, no matter what. Of course, I have very few iMessage contacts - most people use Android and/or Windows, so this isn't an issue for me.

Glad it's working. Fair warning: even though my messages sync up like yours now do, I sometimes find that the Mac won't get messages for a while. My phone always does, but I might need to close and re-open messages, or send a message to someone, or even restart the computer, before Messages on

That's I Messaging in my opinion isn't very cool yet as we are not having a great experience with it because not everything is synchronised yet. When I can send iMessages from one device to another using my phone number (just incase I do not wish to use my Apple ID) then I'll say it's cool.
