Voice control is fairly powerful, but it does expect that you know what is on screen to press. With shortcuts in the MacOS, you can extend what Siri can do. I keep hearing that shortcuts on the Mac has improved significantly this year, but the only thing I have done was to create a shortcut

Hi Donna, While I cannot speak to your personal setup, I am told, both in documentation, and by apple staff that one can use voiceover commands via the voice control method. it is my own goal, using voice control for some tasks, and voiceover for others. I have no desire to use Siri for

Well, I hope you’re right. If you have voice control enabled in system preps, it’s on until you turn it off. I have not found a way to turn it back on once you turn it off, though. So go into system props, accessibility, voice control, check the checkbox to enable it, and you should be good to

I believe you can configure the triple tap of the finger print sensor to toggle voice command. I also just checked and there is a action in shortcuts to turn on/off voice control. One can also add additional vocabulary to Voice Control, when my wife was having wrist trouble, I helped her set

I never use the ribbon when using MS Word on the Mac. You cannot use keyboard shortcuts/accelerator keys, and it's very laborious to access the ribbon using VoiceOver. Much prefer accessing features through the menu bar when using Word on the Mac. Using word on a Mac is definitely different

When setting up a new Mac mini, iMac, or Mac Studio, you MUST connect either a mouse or Magic trackPad to get past the initial setup process. Even if you do not need one of these peripherals because you are a blind VoiceOver user, you still must connect a pointing device to get past the setup
