If you do in Terminal: ls /dev/cu* What is returned, apart from your Bluetooth ports? Hopefully the port is just serial-USB so you can simply send embossable text to it in standard ASCII form. Test it out with a braille file, as short as you can of course so as not to waste the paper. --

Yes I tried setup in System Prefs. I didn't even get to setting it up once I hit the Add button, it just ran a test page or whatever it was. In the printer table it showed the Prolific controller which is the chlpset in the parallel to USB cable. I looked at the information and it shows

Scott, I got curious so opened the Louis braille app. It looks like one can send output to /dev/null. Since documents can be set up on a per basis, the question I have is, how do I know if /dev/null is the embosser? And there is another option in that Send to list which is /test.output.

Firstly, you need to know what port your embosser is on. /dev/null I am thinking just does a .brf file port.. So basically it loops back to itself and creates the .brf file. Now it should tell you how to install the embosser itself. I think I have a copy of Louis Braille here and I’ll take

That was my experience to Kevin. I can use hey Siri telling it to speak the screen, but when I try to tell it to speak selected text it gets confusing things I want to send a text message. I can't find any Siri command to let me tell it to speak selections. You may be right, it may not work
