Don't think you can get VO to speak at the boot menu. Pressing option allows
you to select a start-up disk but during that time only the basic kernel is
loaded, no sound drivers would be.

Find a computer you can use; pc or mac, sign in with your apple ID on iTunes,
then you can de-authorize the computers.
From the view my account menu, view your account. Then click on manage

There is no way for the Mac to not go to sleep when the lid is closed. The Mac
has to go to sleep when the lid is closed because if it didn't, the internal
components would get to hot, so to protect itself, the Mac is designed to go to
sleep upon lid closure.

things for garage band, but not on the Apple To The Core one.
Amazingly I've learned how to record at least 1 thing so far, but can't figure
out how to do a voice only recording.

I've figured out the voice recording and how to mix loops into it, now I'll

When I had the original iTunes 11 on my Mac, it red all my podcast descriptions
perfectly.
Now that I have the latest iTunes 11 update, it says description unknown for
any podcast I download.
How can I fix this? Or is this something that Apple will fix in a future iTunes

I'm confused as to whether or not, if you purchase it from the Mac Appstore, do

Having multiple devices means that whatever you have on your library, your

It all depends on what purpose you'll be using the mp3's for, which will
determine the software.
Are you trying to, as an example, record a podcast? Or maybe a Skype call?
Please try and detail further your intent for recording MP3's if you can.
Generally, however, you can use things like

You can pull up a new project template called Podcast, then use one of the
tracks already provided; female or mail voice track, then record that way.
It's how I usually do it anyway.

Garage band will let you export by going to the share menu by pressing Command
then arrowing right to share, then export podcast to dsk, then following the
prompts to export to Mp3.
Once you export the podcast, Garageband will add artist info to your podcast

The new Mavricks OS, I can't seem to make a boot disk of.
The install image is 5.31GB, but yet when I use LionDiskMaker or a program
within the install image called createinstallmedia, both methods failed.
I learned about the createinsallmedia program here
That's the exact command I did. For some reason it said that it's creating the
install disk, then a few minutes later, it says that it failed.

I removed it and am trying to redownload it. I'm going to also reboot because
under utilities, disk utility, there are the images mounted, but they don't
show on the desktop. The images appear to be old copies of Mavericks when it
was mounted the first time.

Ok. I had to download the new version of disk maker and that worked and created
the boot disk of Mavericks.
No clue why the terminal command didn't create it as it should have.

Try and download the new version of disk maker, called DiskMaker X. It'll
actually prompt you to download the new version of OSX, and it will help create
the boot disk, if that's what you want to do.

I created a boot disk with Disk maker x for OSx 10.9, and for some reason, the
disk doesn't show up under startup disk.
It gave no errors or anything, yet it says the disk creation was successful.

I’ve enabled File Vault2, a way to encrypt your disk with sensitive information
or other info. But the recovery key I couldn’t write down as there is no way of
interacting with VO to copy the text of the key. So now, I no longer have the
key anywhere, and VO has a beep prompt at login
I haven’t lost the password, yet, though i really wanted to write down the key
and couldn’t. So I’ll need to call AppleCare and ask them for the key and email
it to myself. How were you able to copy the key? When I am able to generate a
new key I’ll try your way of copying to see if it changed
Strange. It has an option to store the key with apple so why wouldn’t they keep
it.
As far as the login, it only does it at first boot, if it awakes from sleep, it
uses regular voice over. Otherwise the beep method. It scared me at first, but
i got it right the first time.

I have a Western Digital 2TB MyPassport USB external drive, and I’m trying to
install the latest OS 10 onto the drive.
I formatted the drive as Mac Extended, Journaled, and made 1 partition, also
formatted as Mac Extended, Journaled, and set in the options to use the G U I
table scheme.
The disk shows up on the desktop so I’d assume that means t’s mounted.
