Hey Jon, You might have better luck working with your outdated copy by using the mouse. Route the mouse to the VO cursor (I think the command is vo+cmd+f5 - have a look in the menu by pressing vo+f7) and clicking (vo+shift+space). That's how I got the old bookshare app working, as well as some

The old macintalk voice (at that time I believe it was called PlainTalker) was much more robotic. I think it was replaced in the mid-90s. The android people are working on implementing blindness accessibiliity into the G1 (and apparently the android platform). The phone uses a touchscreen.

Not sure about this myself, but if all else fails you can use JFW's keyboard manager to reassign keys you have trouble using when bound to their default assignments. There is also apparently something called shark keys or keyshark which can reassign keys, reenabling the insert key if you can't
