Hi,
Thanks so much for this. I wasn’t really very familiar with the screen
recognition feature and this was what was causing the problem. Have
switched it off now. I agree that I do like image recognition to, find it
helpful and makes things more interesting.

Hi,
Do you have the screen recognition turned on by any chance?
This is under settings accessibility voiceover and voiceover recognition.
Make sure it’s turned off for safari. I should note you can add it to the rotor
and then turn it on for each app as you move, I just don’t know if it’s part of
Hi,
I'm having a weird problem with safari on my iphone which basically
makes safari unusable. When I try to edit/type a web address, VO does
not read the keyboard, though I'm told by a sighted person that it's
there - VO just makes those sounds on it like it does when there's

Sounds like you got the same infection my parents did. I still haven't
rooted it all out but whatever you do, don't call the number or give
them your credit card.

My choice is Clamsav, which is free in the Mac App Store. I know there are a
few other options, but I haven't used any, except for Addware Medic (also free,
but not from the App Store).

2. Exit safari and then go back into safari.
3. Close every window in safari.
4. Reconnect the network.

I have used Web Kit for a very long time now and believe me, it is no trouble
to install. You just download it and place it in your applications folder
like you would any other app. Don't let any fears of installation stop you
from using Web Kit. It really does work very well.

Hello. Try webkit. This is a few months at least ahead of safari and most of
the time more stable.

Good day,
I have been able to use google until this morning. After editing
one's search criteria VO comes back with an empty window. Has something
changed so that google is no longer accessible?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Alison.
I've just had such a crash with Safari and Google! Guess I'll have to use
Windows to do my search then.

For some reason, you can still do a google search from the search widget. It
looks like it loads the exact same page of results, but doing it from the
Google page sure makes VO unhappy.

Yup. I was able to reproduce. Latest Safari on the search results page
causes voiceover to crash and restart over and over. Webkit nightly
build works fine. So it sounds like it isn't necessarily a Google or
Voiceover issue but rather some bug in Safari.

Hi all
I'm having the same problem in Safari, but it is most definitely not limited to
Google. I downloaded and installed Webkit, this has reduced the problem
significantly. Incidently, I encountered the problem after the latest version
of Safari was installed, perhaps coincidence.
Cheers,
One thing I found that helped was to sign into Google with my Google ID and
tell it to keep me signed in. I don't know if this will help in the long term,
but it did help when I did that just recently. Of course, if you don't have a
Google ID, that won't help unfortunately.

I have tried to follow these instructions. However VO restarts every time i
try to navigate. i guess i will need to load WEB KIT.
Thanks to everyone for there responses.

Yep looks like it is only the google main page that causes problems not the
tool bar. I dunno what's up. but I would thorugh the safari menu report this
bug to apple so they can look at it and perhaps report to google about it.
