[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1840565] Re: Add short instructions on placeholder admin page

2019-09-29 Thread Steven
Commit hash: 9b51e9d6841aecf471f7a0b5538d459c4e81dead
Environment tested: Master
Browser tested: Chrome
Theme used: Raw

PRECONDITIONS:

1) n/a

TEST STEPS:

1) Log in as Site admin
2) Browse to
/admin/extensions/plugintypeconfig.php?plugintype=blocktype
3) Verify the text under the page title is as follows: ✔
Move individual blocks to change the order in which they appear in the
placeholder block that is put on a page. The numbers indicate how many times a
specific block type is already in use on the site.
4) Click the help icon to the right of the page title
5) Verify the text in the help modal is displayed as follows ✔
All block types that are possible to use on the site are displayed. You
can change their order by dragging and dropping them. The order will be changed
for everyone on the site.

By changing the order you can highlight often used block types or
encourage people to add lesser used ones as they are higher up.

Per default, up to 4 block types are displayed when adding the
placeholder block to a page. These are the most important ones. The
other blocks are made visible by clicking the "Show more" button in the
block configuration.

The numbers in each block type on this page indicate how many times a
particular block type is already in use. Note that some block types are
placed on every dashboard, profile, or group homepage. These numbers may
then be higher due to being on everyone's page or every group homepage.

Bulk import doesn't retain user details correctly

Status in Mahara:

Status in Mahara 19.04 series:
  Confirmed
Status in Mahara 19.10 series:
  In Progress

Bug description:
  This was reported at
  https://mahara.org/interaction/forum/topic.php?id=8502

I can confirm it with a bulk export from account on demo.mahara.org
  (attached).

For details, see the forum post.

  To replicate:

Have 2 or more accounts that have files and portfolio pages, e.g. from
  demo.mahara.org

  1. Use the bulk export to export the accounts.
  2. On another Mahara site, use the bulk import to import the acocunts.
Expected result: The accounts are transferred and set up as they were on the
original site.

Actual result: Everybody has the same name and profile pictures are
not displayed even when the accounts had some. While email addresses
were shown in the site admin area Admin menu -> People -> User search,
no primary email address was shown on the accounts settings page and
when logging in, an email validation was to be sent.

Still to be tested on 18.10 and 18.04 if it's an issue there as well.

Currently for institutions you can see a list of their admins / staff
  on the institution/index.php page eg,

  institution/index.php?institution=cats

It would be good to adjust this page so that if you are wanting to
view the 'mahara' institution it returns the site admin / staff

It would also be good if you try to view an institution that doesn't
exist that it throws a NotFound exception rather than error messages

2019-08-22 Thread Steven
Unable to reproduce bug.

Spoke to dev who said they also were unable to reproduce bug but they
created a patch.

Tested using the patch - still was unable to see the bug.

Not sure what the problem was but the patch appears not to have affected
anything.

Create page via tags not inserting all tagged artefacts into DB

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress

Bug description:
It is possible to create a new page via tags. When a journal entry is tagged
and a new page is created via tags, the journal block will appear on the new
page. It will have a title that links back to the full journal entry, ie
http://mahara/artefact/artefact.php?artefact=227&view=52
Clicking this link produces this error:
  Access denied
You do not have access to view this page.

Artefact 227 not in page 52

It seems that when you create via tags, it is not inserting this
journal entry artefact into the database.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1827811] Re: Move "Add comment" and "Details" into modal with "Comments"

2019-08-22 Thread Steven

Title:
Move "Add comment" and "Details" into modal with "Comments"

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress

Bug description:
This is part of the page revamp:

https://wiki.mahara.org/wiki/Developer_Area/Specifications_in_Development/Page_layout_revision

Currently, the "Add comment" and "Details" links at blocks that can
have them, takes you to a separate page where you can view the
artefact's metadata and can leave comments.

When you view comments, they are already displayed in the modal
directly on the page, but you can't leave a comment yet.

  The things to be done:

  - Combine comments, add comment, Details to "Comments and details" (or just
comments or just details depending on what can be displayed) so you only have
one link.
  - Clicking that link opens up a modal on the page that shows the artefacts
details (if there are any) and also the comments, as well as allows you to
leave comments if that is enabled. Please see the attached mock-up.

This would also mean to review all the "Details" on blocks as some of
them are not needed. For example, clicking the details link next to a
plan task only shows that single plan task again without any
additional details. The "Details" should only be there when there is
additional metadata information but not simply repeating the block
  content.

The title of the modal (the one in the green bar) would be the
blocktype as the title of the block is listed below.

A decision still needs to be made on whether comments can be paginated
in the modal or if they are shown all one after another (which might
  get quite long).

We are not changing anything else from the proposal as that requires
Gridstack to be implemented first. This is a standalone usability
  improvement independent of Gridstack.

HTML export links to actual files rather than local files

Status in Mahara:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When you export a portfolio in HTML and have a file on a page, the
file's link goes to the original location of the site whereas the
download link goes to the local site.

Therefore, if a user clicks the link, they often need to log into the
original site or if the account was removed can't access their file.
Whereas if they click to download the file, they can do so. The links
should always go to the local file rather than the original location
esp. since the file is saved in the HTML export.

This is a standalone usability
  improvement independent of Gridstack.

should see "text" step. The script will pass because the group I do not own is
a group that I am a member of. The text will display in the profile side block
on the page
NOTE: Behat script is found here https://reviews.mahara.org/#/c/10181/

ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA:

1) Script should verify that text exists or does not exist within a
specific part of a page (ie. in the search result table of the page)

Environment tested: Master
Browser tested: Chrome

PRECONDITIONS:

1) Behat script can be found here https://reviews.mahara.org/#/c/10181/

TEST STEPS: # User selects Groups I own

Given I log in as "UserC" with password "Kupuh1pa!"
When I choose "Groups" in "Engage" from main menu
When I select "Groups I own" from "Filter"
And I press "Search"
Then I should not see "GroupA"

EXPECTED RESULT: The search results do not display any groups and the
test script should fail

ACTUAL RESULT: The search results do not display any groups and the test
script passes - because the Text GroupA is displayed in the profile side
block on the page

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1837340] [NEW] Behat: Isolated institutions scripts needed

2019-07-21 Thread Steven
Public bug reported:

TITLE: Behat: Isolated institutions scripts needed for new functionality

BEHAT SCRIPT : Create Script feature file
->isolated_institutions.feature

RELATED TO: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/717196
https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/1832308
https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/1823065
https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/1831835
https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/1748833

SUMMARY: Isolated institutions is a feature that allows locking down
access for members of institutions so that they are separated entirely
and disallow contact between members of one institution with members of
another institution.

REQUIREMENTS: By turning on isolated institutions,

1) all institutions on the site are isolated
2) people from different institutions cannot
a) see each others’ profiles
b) share portfolios
c) join groups set up by non-institution members
d) send messages
e) become friends
f) only site administrators can contact everyone
3) being a member in multiple institutions is not possible
4) all self-registrations need to be confirmed by an institution or site
administrator
5) public groups can only be created by site administrators
6) the “Online users” side block can only show institution members at maximum
7) profile pages are not available to all registered users
8) The site administrator can turn on the site setting “See own groups only” in
Administration menu → Configure site → Site options → Group settings. This will
allow regular institution members to only see groups in which they are a member
and other people who are members in the same groups, restricting the contact
they can have with others.
9) Institution administrators decide in the institution settings whether the
online users side block shall be displayed with just the institution members or
not.
10) When an institution member gains access to a profile URL from another
institution member, they cannot see the page at all and receive the “Access
denied” message, preventing them from even seeing the restricted profile as
they should not be able to find out anything about a member of another
institution.

*
Suggested Scenarios:

Test Scenario: When Isolated institutions are turned on, The “Multiple
institutions” option is disabled & The “Confirm registration” option on
the site level is turned on per default

Test Scenario: people from different institutions cannot
  a) see each others’ profiles
  b) share portfolios
  c) join groups set up by non-institution members
  d) send messages
  e) become friends
  f) only site administrators can contact everyone

Test Scenario: being a member in multiple institutions is not possible

Test Scenario: all self-registrations need to be confirmed by an
institution or site administrator

Test Scenario: public groups can only be created by site administrators

Test Scenario: the “Online users” side block can only show institution
members at maximum

Test Scenario: profile pages are not available to all registered users

Test Scenario: The site administrator can turn on the site setting “See
own groups only”

Test Scenario: Institution administrators decide in the institution
settings whether the online users side block shall be displayed with
just the institution members or not.

Test Scenario: When an institution member gains access to a profile URL
from another institution member, they cannot see the page at all and
receive the “Access denied” message, preventing them from even seeing
the restricted profile as they should not be able to find out anything
about a member of another institution.

Bug description:
  Mahara: 19.04.0
  OS: Linux 16.04
  DB: Postgres
Browser: FF and Chrome (and others)

In the Files upload screen (and other screens that display error
  message):

When a user accidentally clicks on the 'Create folder' icon before
entering a folder name, a red error message appears:

"Please provide a name for the new folder."

When the user enters the folder name and clicks the button again, the folder
is created but the red error message still appears.

The message is only removed after the user refreshes the page.

This can be misleading to the user.

Can you lease clear the message when the folder is created - and
  display a success message?

  Another scenario:

  * The user creates a folder successfully.
  * The user then clicks into the new folder
  * Clicks the 'Create folder' button (in the child folder) without providing a
name
  * The error message then appears
  * Clicks the up arrow to go to the parent folder.
  * The error message still appears - even though the user has moved out of the
child folder.

Expected, the error message should clear.

Ideally, all alert messages in danger, warning, success classes should fade
out after perhaps 10 seconds? This should be throughout the entire site not
just the above screens.

Title:
  Anchor hides behind header

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress
Status in Mahara 19.04 series:
  Confirmed
Status in Mahara 19.10 series:
  In Progress

Bug description:
when you place an anchor into text and jump to it, the anchored text
is not displayed, but you need to scroll a bit up to see it. The
anchor link jumps all the way to the top of the view port. That places
the anchor behind the top header with the logo and the navigation.
Instead, the anchor should take that strip into consideration and
display the text right below it thus effectively making the viewport
  smaller.

The tricky thing here will be to take into consideration that the
height of the header can vary depending on the site messages that are
  displayed.

  To replicate:

  1. Create a page with a very long text, e.g. created via
https://www.lipsum.com
  2. Create an anchor in the text in the second paragraph.
  3. Link to the anchor further down in the text.
  4. Click "Display this page" and scroll down to the link.
  5. Click the link.
Expected result: The text to which the anchor points is displayed.
Actual result: A few lines further down from the anchor are visible at the
edge of the header and the anchor itself needs to be scrolled to as it is
hidden by the header.

  1. Turn on all event logging: Admin > Configure site > Site options >
Logging settings > Log events = All
  2. Set up Time zone in Admin > Configure site > Site options > Site settings

  3. Add User1 to Mahara
  4. Masquerade User1 (ie do not log in as them bug masquerade)
  5. Return back to admin user
  65. Run the Masquerading report: Admin > Reports > Configure report
  7. Select:
  - Report Type = Masquerading sessions
  - Submit

What happens: Above error is generated with:

  Masquerading sessions | All institutions
  Mahara: Site unavailable
A nonrecoverable error occurred. This probably means you have encountered a
bug in the system

What should happen: the report should be displayed.

Bug description:

  * Prerequiste: create an institution (Inst1) other than Mahara.

  * Created a group with the following settings:

  Group name = 1904 Upgrade Test G2
  Associate with Institution = Inst1
  Group homepage URL = 1904-upgrade-test-g2

  * Save the group settings.

  * Come back into the group settings page, the Open button is disabled
  - i.e. click on Controlled = No - should toggle the Open button on.

Current Behaviour: Open button remains disabled
Expected Behavious: Open button should be enabled.

This will need to be tested with isolated institutions turned on and
turned off. Isolation should not force the "open" option to be
unavailable as only site admins can set up public groups when
isolation is turned on and they can decide whether the group is to be
  open or not.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1821267] Re: Email notice for submisisons and reports on submisisons

2019-06-20 Thread Steven
Apparently Email notice is existing functionality and code was not
changed in this patch.

I did receive notification when the user submits a page/collection for
submission.
However, the only time I got a notification of release was when the Site admin
released the submission. Never got a release email when Group admin released
the submission.

Title:
Make the info on copying text box more obvious

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress

Bug description:
The text for re-using a text box "If you edit the text of this block,
it will also be changed in 1 other block(s) where it appears. Make a
copy (link to make a copy)" is not obvious enough for some users and
  may be overlooked.

Can it be made more prominent, e.g. via a pop-up window? Is it
possible to link "Make a copy" still within a pop-up or would we have
to think of a different solution?

2019-06-09 Thread Steven
Pre-condition: Isolated institutions is turned on (config.php setting)
and then "See own groups only" setting is turned on (Admin menu ->
Config site -> Site options -> Group settings).

1. User A allows people to send him emails.
2. User A is in a group in which the institution admin is not a member.
2. Institution admin goes to User A's profile and CAN_ see "Send
message" button on the profile page and ___CAN___ send a message.
3. Institution admin goes to the "People" page and CAN__ see "Send
message" button on the "People" page and __CAN__ send a message.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1823801] Re: Behat: Confirm Inst tags can be used on Inst pages

2019-06-05 Thread Steven
Revised the Behat script to include.

1) Inst admin put an institution tag on a text block artefact on an
Institution page

===
A Test was suggested to test whether another user who is not a member of
instone can see the institution tags for instone.

it is not possible at this time to test this with existing Behat steps -
A Step definition would be required to fill in select2 search input with
a value a and then see if the results contained or not contained a
specified value

Dev said it would require a lot of effort.

The user's primary email address is not checked in a case insensitive
  way

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress

Bug description:
Currently you can create 2 users, via the Admin -> Users -> Add user
  screen, with this:

  username: Test one email: us...@example.com
  username: Test two email: us...@example.com

  but not another user with

  username: Test three email: us...@example.com

As it complains the email address 'us...@example.com' is used

However, with email addresses the domain part is case insensitive and
only the username part is case sensitive - yet saying that most email
servers treat the username part also as case insensitive to avoid
email delivery confusion - see https://www.lifewire.com/are-email-
  addresses-case-sensitive-117

To also avoid confusion within Mahara we should limit the primary
email address to be case insensitive unique.

Bug description:
When there is no h1 heading on the dashboard page, the edit dashboard
  button hovers too low.

  To replicate:
  1. Go to admin menu > config site > static pages
  2. Change top heading from h1 to h2
  3. Go back to the dashboard

Expected result: The edit dashboard button is touching the line above it
Actual result: The edit dashboard button is a few pixels below the line

Title:
Behat: New fixture Given the"block" exists:

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Hi,

It would be more efficient if we had a fixture for just adding blocks
  to a portfolio.

As an example the fixture could say:

And the given "name of block" block exists:

We could also make this fixture link to a group/institution. So the
following blocks exists for a certain group page. Don't know if that's
plausible or is right, but it's an idea.

  Thanks ,

  Jinelle

Title:
Behat test "group_view_block.feature" fails in MySQL

Status in Mahara:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Hi all,

I ran the Behat suite when we did the release. 15.10. One scenario
  failed.

  Feature:
`Show the block "Group pages" in the group homepage'.

  Step that failed:
   Form field with id|name|label|value "group_view_submission_form_2_options"
not found.
In step `And I select "Page userA_01" from
"group_view_submission_form_2_options"'.

This test is testing (Bug 1457246). If you'd rather grep search the
  tests using this :)

This is one of the steps that failed but a few more steps in this
scenario didn't run because they were dependent on this step.

  Cheers.
  Jinellle

Title:
Behat step "And I wait x seconds" should allow second as well

Status in Mahara:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I want to make it so that "And I wait "1" second" is a valid step as well as
"And I wait "1" seconds"
Also to refactor any tests that currently use "And I wait "1" seconds"

I am tempted to also get the step to error if someone tries to submit
"And I wait "10" second" or "And I wait "1" seconds" because I am the
grammar police. Maybe I'm too mean.

Behat: Create new script for adding content via tags

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
Create behat script to include test for creating portfolio page
content with "Create via tags" field. The script would facilitate
setting up the background and prevent multiple steps in the scenario
  itself.

  Feature file to create: create_content_via_tags.feature
Beneficial for bug #1781278 for example.
