Rajeev,
ListBoxes doesn't have Calling clause so you need user activity (to push
button, double click or so) to move selected items from one listbox to the
other.
Try compiling following code.

Thanks a lot in anticipation.

Hello All,
Can anybody recommend any good and hopefully reasonably priced mapinfo training
courses in the UK ? I would be looking for an introductory type course that I could
tailor to my own needs. I do have one in mind but have been instructed to look around
a bit more first.
Thanks for

many ideas that sound good "on paper", it unintentionally created problems.
Perhaps what we need is a way to selectively save printer settings, to satisfy the
needs of people like you, and people like me.

The most obvious way to hotlink from Mi to ms-access is to open the
Ms-Access database directly in mapinfo. One of the downsides of this method
is that you exclude other users from using the Access database while your
using it from MapInfo. Besides that, you can only use the

Richard,
For simply add nodes, you may use the "overlay nodes" function, available
directly in MapInfo. (This is the function which is used by the small
program that Antoine sent to the list).
But if you want to split lines/plines at intersections, maybe you refer to
MapLogix, the topological

Hi,
I'm using MapInfo 4.5 and importing .e00 files with ArcLink using a batch
input file. The program stops frequently during processing and the MapInfo
icon on the Windows Taskbar at the bottom of the screen begins to flash.
Processing won't continue until a user clicks on the flashing button.
I have tried all drivers and different printers. Yes when I change back to
4.5 all problems are fixed.

Why is it not possible to place printer and page layout information to the
place where it belongs to: the document to be printed. And this would
certainly be the layout itself.
To dump everything, which has to be recovered later, in a workspace file, is
in my opinion not a good concept, it is

As others have politely pointed out, MapInfo itself can do the job just fine:
1) Select a line.
2) Goto the menu bar and select "Objects" and then "Set Target."
3) Select the overlapping/intersecting line or lines.
4) Goto the menu bar and select "Objects" and then "Overlay Nodes"

Dear Karl
If Users are updating Access tables using Access and not via MapInfo
then MapInfo has to keep building its AID file. If they are familiar
with Visual Basic their best bet is to open the Access tables in VB and
use integrated mapping to control MapInfo.
This is probably not what you
Just a quick question
When MapInfo Ver 5.0 converts UTMNAD27 points to Lat/Long coordinates (using
centroid(x), centroid (y) Function in SQL SELECT) what datum will the new
Lat/Long coords be in, NAD27 or is the default NAD83. If anyone has any
information or clarification please let me know.
Mark,
You can disable the X on a buttonpad by using the following mapbasic command:
Set Window ButtonPadInfo("{Pad Name}",6) SysMenuClose Off
The other way of issuing the "Alter Menu Item.." when a user closes a buttonpad,
would be difficult as the WinCloseHandler command doesn't work on
I would like to open an Excel worksheet but the MapBasic manuals only
indicate how to register an excel *.xls file if you give mapbasic the name
of the range or worksheet. But MapInfo can read the available worksheets
and the ranges in these worksheets that contain data or have formatting.

Andreas,
I experienced the same problem that you mention, ie after about 100 searches
the processing slows considerably.
In my mapbasic program I was fetching each record in a table, grabbing the
x,y coordinates and gradually searching from that point for an object in
another table. As you
Ditto.
Real pain though to close all those tables :-)
Put a loop in to save them peridocially - that didn't help either.
Put a loop in to close temp tables - that didn't help either.
Tried different ways of searching - that didn't help either.
Mind you - on a PentiumII400 with 120MB RAM (NT4SP4)
