Hi everyone,
Introduction
we have a client who uses GPS to locate his vehicles on a map. Until now,
everything is fine.
The thing is that the territory on which his vehicles move is a thin stripe
vertically oriented (north-south).
However, for display purpose, he needs to rotate this stripe

I then found, unfortunately, that MapBasic cannot handle multi-dimensional
arrays. So much for inverting a matrix.
Implementing multi-dimensional arrays with one-dimensional arrays
isn't that tough. You could even hide the gnarly bits by using
function calls (but
Hi,

Is anyone out there aware if any XML standards are being employed to define
places, such as states, counties, cities. I'm looking for a way to
standardized data transfers that may have a geographic context but no
spatial data (i.e. a news story).

Has anyone had labels not print in the selected anchor point position?
When labeling a point with more than one piece of data the labels must
stay in their selected anchor point position. Help.

I have created a View in Oracle 8i of a subset of an existing spatial table.
I can load and display the full table in Oracle table in MapInfo with no
problems but cannot load and display the view.
When trying to make the table mappable, The view is listed in the table list

Hi Mustaffa!

Greetings list,
Has anybody downloaded the MapInfo Ver 6 beta???
When printing it seems to suffer from the same / similar problems as the
ver 5.5 patch, in that the layout window will not recognise a landscape
orientation when the printer is set to landscape (it defaults to portrait).

Peter,
I don't see any need to export the data to Excel. Why don't you just
use an SQL Query and use the Order By option to sort the data. Then
you can delete the duplicates.
Where there isn't a column that can be used to identify duplicates, I
use Update Column to add object information
Thanks for all who made suggestions, I haven't had time to work through
them yet, but as soon as I have found the best solution, I'll post it.
Juan Pufleau Correa suggested: create the following workspace -

Have you tried using the "count()" aggregate function in the sql select
dialog. This will produce a query table containing a column of all
unique occurances of your nominated column in the base table, a count of
how many times this value/entry occurs, plus any other columns you
nominate.
Well, again we have a MapInfo Beta, and again here is a reminder:

There still seems to be some misconceptions concerning the behavior of the
printer settings that we added for MI Pro 5.5. There were some problems
in 5.5 concerning how these changes were set but the patch that we
distributed around the first of the year fixed all of them that I am aware
of.
hello
I have a map with buildings. The points that symbolize the buildings is not
present in my table. Is there anyone who knows how I can make these
coordinates visible?
thanks

Being both a Unix/Linux and Windows user, I have found that it is useful to
have unix tools in a windows environment. This is a great example. I use
the GNU/GPL Cygwin tools from Cygnus (bought by RedHat). They are a free
download. Almost all of the traditional unix tools are included--sed,
