David,
The dialog remove problem I had occurred when my dialog box didn't
have an OKButton, which automatically dismisses the dialog, but
rather a series of buttons that represented choices the user could
make. The handler for each of these buttons had a dialog remove
statement in it.

I was wondering if there was any interest in collecting of a list of OCX
tools suitable for integration and extension of MapX? We at Red Hen have a
set of three dozen of our own that we are in the process of making available
to the larger community of MapInfo Pro, MapX, and our newest cousins,
Hi,
Does anybody have a program for converting an E00 grid file into either
MI polygons/points, or into a binary grid?

While I agree with the responses to your question (that an SQL is the
preferred method), it didn't answer your question, and may actually take
longer than the boundary select tool. The only thing I found different
than what you wrote, is that BOTH layers must be selectable (from MI help

I have a bounday of a farm field which was drawn using
GPS. I believe the points that make up the boundary were recorded with
their altitude data. I would first like to know if the altitude data is
stored. If it is, then I need to use that data. Can you
help?

Hi Jory
There is actually a pretty simple trick to doing this: There are a number of
steps but this works well:
1) Open both a Mapper and Layout window
2) In the layout window create a frame to contain the map. Size the frame to
whatever you want.
3) Double-click the frame and uncheck the "Fill
I received quite a few answers to my Boundary Select Problem.
A few mentioned that I'd better make sure both layers were selectable.
They were, but one was "greyed out" as I had also made it editable. I
don't know whether that helped or hindered the process. My guess is no.
Another few

Hi Guys,
Some months ago, a vendor posted some
information on the list that said they had very good 1980 census maps. I
have (and am) trying to figure out where I put it. If anyone has
information about such data, please send an EMail or call on the 800
number.

1. To get a scaled print- In layout view, double click the frame you wish to
scale. In the lower right corner of the dialogue box is "Scale on paper 1"
= _" fill in the blank. This will change the size of the frame and you
sometimes have to go back to the map window and zoom in or out to

I am trying to wade through the import routines for 1:24K DLG files from
USGS. Is there an easy way to do this? Man it's complicated.

Something that might interest those of you who use the MapInfo "Bounds"
clause to increase the precision of your maps -- don't use the Cosmetic
Layer to transfer data around. I had been wondering why some of my
points/lines would move around from time to time. The distances were very
small,
Hello all.
Confusing but:
I would like the mapper window to reflect what is seen in its respective
layout frame. Right now, the layout frame shows much more than the window in
the mapper view. When I scroll around the mapper view it changes the layout
frame view, so it becomes very tedious to
Do you know if the object variables also unbounded as well? It could
explain some of the problems with object processing that I have been
having with finding coincident points. Could also be the cause of the
GPFs I've been getting with merging using projected data into a variable.
