Hi,
I currently write applications that converse with word using DDE. Some
of these apps might be controlled themselves by Vis basic, others are
purely MBXs. What I 'm after is a good source of info, or pointers to
using other methods of integration (OLE?). Apart from the mapbasic
samples and
Is there any way to convert a workspace to a geoset by using
MapBasic-script?
I'd like to convert a lot of workspaces to geosets and using some kind of
batch in MapBasic would speed up this proces significantly. I tried it, but
my attempts have failed so far. Please let me know if and how this
I think you should be able to modify geoset.mbx if MapInfo will

Javier,
Yes, this is doable but you are better off thinking about a callback
from a custom tool rather than a double click event.
When the callback event is fired it will callback to vb and then you can
get your data via a variety of methods and show it in a form etc.
To get started, look in

Greetings All: Can someone point me to someplace that lists the precise sizes of all
the standard printed pages (ie: A1, A3, A4, etc)?? I know there are a lot them. I
don't have to deal with them enough to keep straight which is which, so a reference
guide would be of great value to me.
I am posting a question pertaining to a font editor out there that will
enable me to edit/add symbols to mapinfo's map symbols true type fonts. I
have been emailing a tech support rep. who has mentioned fontographer as
being a font editor. I have not been able to locate the package. Is anyone

I need to find an mbx. which creates doughnut style buffers. I have 1100

they are created around. This cannot be achieved using the "erase" tool in

Hello list,
I have a layout which uses custom fonts/symbols. When plotted the map
window plots fine, but in the legend, these custom fonts/symbols are very
foggy. I am keeping the same layout, but zoom to different areas in the map
window. Some maps plot fine, but some have this legend
i created several small bmps to represent tower types.
this worked fine and showed up perfectly on my maps.
i needed to change one a bit, and when i replaced the one that was working

My question is how do I display text objects only inside a given region?
The simplest way I have found to do this is to create a mask in the
cosmetic layer to cover the offending text. If the area is rectangular,
create a white, opaque rectangle or polygon around the area to be
printed that's

The first thing that comes to mind to check: make sure you didn't save the
bitmap as a 24-bit bitmap, or for that matter, anything more than a
256-color bitmap. (From MS Paint, when you save, click File Save As,
check out the Save As Type area at the bottom of the Save As dialog.)

You asked "Can someone point me to some place that lists the precise sizes

You can figure out the precise sizes from these three rules

decreasing size, A0,
I am trying to splice many 1:24,000 DEM's, but i want a seamless

There is a simple call to an API function that will enable a timer to
become part of an mbx routing. If this is the direction you are going then
