Hi All
this might be one for the fbritish GISers amongst us but maybe not. i have a
OSCAR (Ordnance Survey Centre Alignment of Roads) dataset. My problem is
that it represents Motorways and dual carriageway roads with 2 centrelines
(one for each carriageway).

Hi Mappers
just a quick question to see if anyone has noticed the

with the current ArcView 3.2 with all the object
orientated geographic objects and open system

i have a coverage of 2800 points and i need to have for each record in

a MapBasic question here (and i imagine it will be dead simple). i have
a number of MI tables that make up a map of the UK when opened togther
in the same mapper window. one of the tables contains a series of
regions within the UK (there are quite a lot of them - approx 180. we've

well it looks like i've got a response to the question. to use the ROWID
function to select the records. It sounds like the best idea is to add a
temp column to the table. populate it using the rowid function and then
select on that.

I Don't know but i witnessed an interesting spectacle the other day. i
was at the GIS show in London and the MapInfo and ESRI stands had their
demo/lecture areas in close proximity. thus i was able to see the ESRI
guy (talking about ArcIMS) try to talk down the MapInfo Guy (MapX).

Hello
i'm having a few problems importing from mif/mid in MI 4.5.2 (yes i know
but they won't buy me 5.5).
the files in question were created using an in house utility that builds
them from Atlas GIS Bna format files.
At the moment it will import approx 100 records before i get an error

Afternoon all
i would suggest that Geoff Robinson's resignation come

As someone who works with the OS and their datasets on

at the moment I'm after a website (or websites) that has info on GIS
file formats (i.e. shp/mif/tab are etc) that gives a technical
description of how they work etc etc. Bit obscure I know but I have a
developer pestering me about such things
I know of one which is http://www.wotsit.org/

no, there must be something in the code that leaves the tables
selected, it is as simple as that... the code could have a line
