Maybe this plugin has been around for ages but i just gotta let everyone
know that it actually works.
The CDReader plugin for Winamp that was posted earlier works like a charm.
Using the plugin, you do not need a dedicated digital connection from the
CD-Rom drive to the souncard to get a

Just add a PS/2 interface to the portable and the problem is solved
They did it for the home-decks, why not for portables?
AFAIK the keyboard draws power ... and although it maybe not
much, it might make a difference ... also for field recordings I'd rather carry
around a mini keyboard
Hi all,
My friend Nigel is about to purchase a portable MD machine. He seems to have
set his heart on the Sharp MD-MT16E. Does anyone on here own one? Any
comments most welcome about its good or bad points.

Hi all,
I've been reading with interest the prices for blanks being quoted on
this list and I have to say I'm amazed. I live in Ireland and in 90% of
cases America always has stuff for cheaper and sooner than we do. However,
for over a year now I've been able to go into Richer Sounds (a
Hi Phil
I have heard of several people with similar problems to yours, and
the solution which seems to have worked for most people is to take
the unit apart and make sure that the ribbon cables inside the unit
are all attached properly.

He obviously doesn't know what he's letting himself in for or he
would know that even if he is back soon, he won't be allowed to play
on his computer anymore :-) There are chores to be done !
The poor fool. Maybe we should take up a collection and send him a
sympathy card?

I may not have made it perfectly clear, but I was referring to

Didn't I recently see something

I got the Iomega ZIP CD from best buy and so far I have only mad e one coaster.
That happened when I was burning one and I did something else that locked up the
computer before the Cd was finished. That one is my coaster.

Hi List,
I just wanted to post a warning here about Refurbished Sharp 702s that
appear all over Ebay and other auction sites. These "things" have a 30 Day
Warranty and are NOT "Factory Refurbished". It's unfortunate for people
like the gentleman who has just experience problems with his
Best Buy lemoned out my remaining JE510, so now I have a credit to use toward
other stuff at Best Buy. I was considering another MD deck, though I have
more than enough already, but they carry only the 330 and the MXD-D3 (and no
non-Sony decks), neither of which I want. I'd have considered
Alright, I followed the directions, opened the sucker up, and everything
looked alright. For fun, I pushed on each rib cable, and things seemed
tight I then powered it up and tried it, and, low and behold, it
worked perfectly.
I don't know what I did, but it works now :)
Thanks a lot.

Hi!
I am informing that I tried the wav's on the atrac page to test my MT-831
Could you give me a link to that wav file? I'd like to see what the atrac
problem really is... I've got the sharp 821 portable.
Thanks!

Hey- refurb isn't so bad. I got an AIWA AM-F70 for only 183.00
(w/shipping) off Onsale.com. It hasn't given me any trouble more
than one disc error. I really like this unit, and I've had it for 7
months now, and you still cannot get it new for that price.

Yep, but
1) does it draw power when it is not connected?
Of course not, but neither does the Ericsson CHA-01 Chatboard.
My question still stands though .. how much power does a 101 draw?
2) I use the "typing blind with 10 fingers" system and

| I'm sure in the long run, he will pay more to have that unit repaired than

Besides, the 722 is nicer. And I'm jealous: I bought a new 702 about a
month before the 722 became available.

Subject: MD: 630 opinions?
Howdy. The Sony MDS-JE630 has dropped a bit in price at the local
store. Being it has digital record level and keyboard input, it
sounds like a fun upgrade, even before my current recorder dies.
Anyone have good or bad experiences with this baby?
I just got
I can't comment on the 630 because it isn't a model that is offered in New
Zealand but I have the JE-520, which seems to be a very similar model.
As I understand it the 520 doesn't need an "end-search" function because it
automatically seeks the end of the recorded section of any MD and starts
I've had a couple of refurbished Sonys and I had no problem with them
at all.

Hi there,
I've just had a friend ask me if he could borrow my battery box to use with his MZ-R55
and Sony ECM-DS70P microphone.
I was wondering can you use a Battery box with a Sony mic, or will it damage it?
Thanks
