I want some brake hose for my '77 300D, it is supposed to be a nice weekend
and this would be a nice project that my son can actually help do.
However, it's Friday at 2:30 (bonus points for planning ahead).
Suggestions as to a source for brake hose? How much would I need if I

It's not like this is the sort of thing you can buy in bulk.
Be sure to have some penetrating lube and a good set of metric flare nut

I was paying attention to dialog and material. My question was about
shipping, figuring it was the Amazon scam, $6 part plus $7.95 shipping

So I'd need to order 16 filters? I suppose I could do that. These are

I am not as gifted as Poos, but did some passable work on a black w140. If it
is really as bad as you say, maybe hitting it with 3000 or 4000 grit wet sand
would give you a better base. I went from 2000 to 5000 grit, then hit it with
a series of finer compounds until the shine was back.
Rubbing compound would be the last thing I would use. In fact, I've never used
rubbing compound that I can recall.
You have to use the right materials with the proper pad. You don't just grab
any old pad and compound and have at it. That is a formula for some serious
damage.
You have to
I can tell you this, I have not got any black color on the pad at all, so it's
not cutting into the paint. I bought 2 foam pads at HF, the one for Polish and
the one for finish. They were out of the one for heavy compounding or whatever
they call it.

That's because you don't compound with a DA and foam pads. You use a rotary
polisher with a wool pad.
DAs and foam pads are for polishing. f you're trying to cut heavy oxidation
with a DA you're wasting your time.
