Speaking of SFO. I wonder what impact this virus is having upon the unhoused who poop in the streets. No word of deaths or illness rampaging through the tents and cardboard boxes populated with the infirm and drug addled. SEA has as much of an issue as the Bay Area. I assume the virus will

Where? San Bruno? South San Francisco? Understand that driving five miles in this area can take considerable time. When is your flight out? Worst case, you could visit Colma while you’re there. Massive cemetery that is so big it has it’s own ZIP code. -D > On Mar 5, 2020, at 10:41 AM, Kaleb

SFO? If you only have a few hours you can’t go into the city, you’ll never get back in time. If it’s a day while you’re there, sure, go into the city and do the tourista stuff, Fisherman’s Wharf, get a Boudin bread brown with some clam chowdah, etc., drive across the Golden Gate to the Marin

I used to ride the cable cars all the time when I lived there. Locals know to go up the block from the turntables where the touristas cluster for hours and just jump on there. Saves waiting around in line. I loved riding the California Street line to Grant. That puts you right at Chinatown,

San Francisco is one of my favorite cities. About 15 years ago we stayed at the Red Victorian in the Haight. Very hippie-tastic, a real hoot. More recently we stayed in Hotel Triton on the edge of Chinatown. The cable car museum is not to be missed, IIRC its free too. You get to see the big

All correct.    How do you protect against an unknown? there are not  many choices, but they pretty much boil down to: 1.  Ignore it,  (wait until its characteristics are determined, then react) 2.  act proactively.   This almost always leads to being accused of overreacting..whether it was or

I have a hypothesis on this virus. I suspect that the reason the CCP did the quarantines and lock downs was that 1. It was a man-made or modified virus 2. They had absolutely no clue how contagious or lethal it was going to be. In hindsight, I suspect that they have caused an unnecessary panic
