The “Real” gas station used to carry 92 octane ethanol free. It seems every
time I went to fuel up, the octane dropped a point until now it is only 88
octane. Still not going to put alcohol into the SL.

Curley,
I'll buy the pump. How do you want to be paid?
What is the inlet/outlet pipe size? [doesn't matter, I'll take it
regardless.]

Actually, the US went Metric long before there was an SAE system. Ask Model T
owners about wrenches, for instance.
The US Army went metric in 1911 when the system was officially adopted. The
Navy stayed inch based for a very long time even though there wasn't much of a
Navy in 1911.

Lay the drum down and roll it off a plank that bridges the tailgate to

use a barrel sling and a hoist
put it on a pallet and use a forklift
Get four big dumb swedes to pick it up.
Use, or build, a loading dock.

The nice thing about 8#/gal is that you never estimate low and you can use the

Looks like my memory of flight training, (geez, has it been 40 years

correct - bravo to your memory! Not fuzzy at all...

I haven't used one but it has always
impressed me as being unusable in the real

We can't get 87 octane no ethanol around here, but we can get 89 octane for

It might work if you set the barrel on a piece of plywood to distribute the
load beyond the rim of the barrel.
With a load of dirt or rock,
Has anyone seen one of these in action?

Would it work to slide a full 55 gal. barrel from the rear of the bed onto
the tailgate?
