find a mechanic who can work on one unless they specialize in
antiques, they get horrible milage (12-16, usually more to the low
end), parts are getting scarce, too.

Not that they aren't a wonderful car to drive, and a great ride all
round, it's just that they really aren't an economic means of
transportation. Mine does much better in the snow and ice than my 87
300D, but I still hate to drive it at 14 mpg on premium.

drove an old Mercedes 300SL. His son, while in school, purchased an old 300
SEL, which his friends called, the Staff car. His Dad, the PM said it was a
silly purchase, as the running costs were very high, especially for a
