Don't rush to the conclusion that there is a problem. The fan system
is automatic, and will control the speed of the fan to meet the
requirements in the cabin. You say you didn't loose cooling at all, so
the sytem may well have been satisfied. The fan may have been coasting
on low till
Best is to read the paint code from the datacard, which can usually
easily be accessed thru the EPC if you don't have the original that
came with the car. Moss green is code 803.

Yes the glow plugs can stay on sometimes the light stays on and sometimes it
doesn't.
To check that all you need to do is run a wire to a glowplug and connect the
wire to a 12 volt lamp that has a ground. You can tape it to a wiper arm.
Another thing you need to check is alt belt tension.
Now that I think of it, the 3 digit paint code is lower left (front of
car) of the ID plate that's next to the hood latch. No need for a
datacard.
