There is a M104 lurking in the car, hard to tell exactly what it is
badged as but the 2.8 has electronic injection whilst early 104 3 liter
motors had KE.
My understanding is that the 104 is basically a 103 with DOHC.
Performance of the 2.8 is not that much more than the 3 liter M103,
