Re: [MBZ] WAY OT: If Trump Should Win the Election

2016-10-19 Thread G Mann via Mercedes
Case made. Showmanship has made Donald Trump incredibly rich and
influential. Well demonstrated by these examples and hundreds of others.

So... Who would you rather vote for.. an entertaining guy who is successful
in business. or a gal whose claim to fame is decades of political
manipulation and several congressional investigations into her actions
because they have all the ear marks of having been violations of law..

Or... does this Republic still belong to We the People, capable of running
our own lives and our own country?

I'd lose my job because I work for a company (Avid) that makes tools for TV and

The 24 hour news cycle makes people think things are way worse than they are.
If you ask around people will tell you theres a mass shooting every day and

Over the last two days, conservative activist organization Project
Veritas has released a series of bombshell videos
http://email.mrc.org/c/14bGKDltXxRlT21Q5b4gSotu of Democratic operatives
bragging about paying protesters to incite violence at Donald Trump
rallies and admitting to voter fraud.

Yet ABC, CBS, and NBC have yet to mention the shocking revelations on
either their morning or evening newscasts
http://email.mrc.org/c/14bGMG5glurZkb7zCgoqZ2KX
http://email.mrc.org/c/14bGOIP2Jr2CLkdj9lIB5H2q This is in spite of the
fact that two of the operatives featured in the videos have been already
fired or stepped down.

If there was any doubt that nearly every major news outlet in the country
is 100% in the tank for Hillary Clinton, it should be gone now.

In the videos, national field director of Americans United for Change,
James Foval admits to “starting anarchy” by unleashing what he calls
“conflict engagement” at Donald Trump rallies
http://email.mrc.org/c/14bGQLyP7nDgctj2Gr2LcljT. Bob Creamer, the founder
and head of a group called Democracy Partners, claims that both the
Clinton campaign and the DNC were aware of the type of tactics being
employed.

“We are contracted directly with the DNC and the [Clinton] campaign” --
James Foval

These shocking admissions were caught on video coming directly out of the
mouths of these high-ranking operatives, but the major networks are
remarkably uninterested in reporting on them.

There can be no doubt that the liberal media are becoming even more
brazen in their attempts to fix this election.

It’s time for the American people to stand up and demand accountability
from their media. Please help us spread the truth about the media’s
dishonesty by sharing this with your friends and family.

Good point.
One of my favorite quotes is, I believe, from Mark Twain.

"The most dangerous place in America is District of Columbia when Congress
is in session."

[May have been Will Rogers... both were slightly before my time, but
equally brilliant at getting to the point.]

Re: [MBZ] 2.3 Liter 4 Cylinder?

2016-10-19 Thread rogerhga--- via Mercedes
Well, if anyone has been following the DNC etal Wikileaks emails, you'll
understand why there will be voter fraud. In the past it was harder when there
was a paper trail, but now with mostly computers, the fraud will be easier,
especially where IDs etc have been ruled against by liberal judges/courts. I
trust a lot of Americans, I just rarely trust self centered, self serving ultra
liberals. When the Clown News Network tells people not to read the Wikileaks
emails, but wait for CNN to tell you what they meanthat is pretty low news
/ journalism...if you can call it that. I personally witnessed vote buying by
the Democrat Party when I was a child. And I haven't seen a moral or ethical
upswing in the DNC over the decades that I've been alive. Being a scientist or
believing in statistics is no guarantee of a correct outcome. And I'd much
rather have the facts than the truth.
Again, just my opinion. As I've gotten older, I've seen too much to blindly
trust too much.
Best Wishes,

Re: [MBZ] I think . . .

2016-10-19 Thread Donald Snook via Mercedes
I have been avoiding this topic because I am so upset this year over our
choices. I know everybody says that every election, but this year it is clear
these are the worst candidates we have ever had.

One thing that has helped me sleep at night is that the election will not be
decided in Kansas. Or Mississippi, or Idaho, or California, or Illinois, or
Massachusetts, or Texas, or New York. Whether we like it or not, the way our
system is set up and the demographics/population, this election will be decided
in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, Virginia, Wisconsin and a very few others.
Those are the states where voters need to educate themselves and voting public
doesn't usually like to put any work into deciding their vote. But, I can't
really throw any stones. I'm scared as hell about this election with either
Donald OR Hillary winning and for the most part I have very little say in who
it will be.

All of this is why I think the MOST IMPORTANT thing to do is to make sure you
are voting in all the other races! Each of us has a say in who our state and
local representatives will be!

I have no parking brake in Polei. Also have a fluid leak that has been
getting topped up with big jugs of FLAPS DOT 3. Sent the car to local
wrench twister down the block. He came back with an estimate of $2k to make
whole.

What is not good. Hard line is rusted out near the rear axle. That is
where the leak be. Pads back and forward are sort of ok, but want fresh.
Rear rotor wants fresh, Rear calipers want fresh, park shoes want fresh.
Front tie rod ends are perished. Wanted to charge to do alignment. Park
cable may be perished.

I can do tie rod ends myself. I am pretty comfortable installing rotor and
pads. Getting the parking shoes seated is a HUGE pain in the patoot. I am
not at all interested in paying retail for calipers or the hard line.

I am assuming the Benz engineers did not get all crazy and put different
calipers on the diesel v. petrol cars (unless it be SEC). So, were I to get
a set of calipers from PnP gen II W126, I would be in the clear to install?
Is there a change from early to late calipers? Like I could use them from a
SD?

The hard line is a question. There must be the same line that is used in
the petrol editions that is used in SDL as well. It is only the one line I
think. If I pull PnP 560SEL line that would be same? OR, should I remove
the hard line, take it to a brake shop and have them fab me a line? I will
be doing all this on a creeper in the rain with car on jack stands. I will
also need to install the park brake cable that came in a box with the car.

Maybe Kaleb has spare w126 brake line, caliper set that he will ship me for
cheap dollars.

Brake lines are no big deal if you have a tube bender and the old one to
copy, and a flare tool that will work with whatever flare the tube has
on it. Don't forget to put your fittings on before flaring! (I know
this!) You can get the tube at the FLAPS, probably borrow the tools
from them. Rebuilt calipers aren't that much, or a knacker set if they
are not too buggered up. I don't know about the parking brake, I don't
think I have dealt with that. Rotors are rather cheap too.

Pads is cheap, buy good ones.
I'd NEVER use a used brake line. Hard lines aren't expensive. The expensive
part is when the fittings strip trying to get the old ones apart.

+1To do a double flare, all you need is the special thimble and
a regular flare tool. I buy the special thimbles from snappy, but they
are NOT guaranteed by snappy. I buy 2 for each time I have to make a
brake line. I usually end up breaking one.

BY ALL MEANS, make several trial runs on scrap steel lines. You need
some lube compatible with brake fluid to lube the double flare as you do it.

Jim Cathey via Mercedes
October 19, 2016 at 8:41 PM
All of this looks like fairly straightforward DIY. Bending brake tubing
can be done, and a double-flare tool is not particularly expensive. I
bought one for the Ebola Fishtank, though I no longer know where it is.
Somewhere, no doubt... Practice putting flares on the ends of scraps
before you tackle the big boy.

It might be possible to cut out the bad spot in the middle, and flare in a
splice section of hard line. Not sure if you can get female fittings or
not.

My _guess_ is that all W126 use the same braking parts. Or, rebuild the
calipers you have. If you can get the kits, they're cheap.

The voter fraud in Athens in 1946 wasn't unusual, I'm sure.
What was unusual was that a sufficient quantity of men were willing to DO
something about it.
If you can imagine 200 special deputies looking over the voters' shoulders,
telling a black man he was voting for the wrong sheriff, and shooting him when
he refused to change his vote, well, maybe voting fraud today IS mild.
I think the solution to that would have been to shoot a deputy between the eyes
right after he shot the voter.
What the veterans of Athens did was lay siege to the jailhouse after the
deputies hid there with the ballot boxes to "count" the votes. After the sheriff
surrendered, the vets counted the ballots in public.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Athens_(1946)

I just think they're getting better at hiding it. After all, fraudulent voting,
unlike armed robbery, is a crime that's designed to go undetected. If one kid
gets caught registering at least 8 corpses to vote, is he the only kid in the
country doing that, or is he the only one who got caught and publicized?

Mitch.

[MBZ] It's Braken Jim!

2016-10-19 Thread clay via Mercedes
I have no parking brake in Polei. Also have a fluid leak that has been getting
topped up with big jugs of FLAPS DOT 3. Sent the car to local wrench twister
down the block. He came back with an estimate of $2k to make whole.

What is not good. Hard line is rusted out near the rear axle. That is where
the leak be. Pads back and forward are sort of ok, but want fresh. Rear rotor
wants fresh, Rear calipers want fresh, park shoes want fresh. Front tie rod
ends are perished. Wanted to charge to do alignment. Park cable may be
perished.

I can do tie rod ends myself. I am pretty comfortable installing rotor and
pads. Getting the parking shoes seated is a HUGE pain in the patoot. I am not
at all interested in paying retail for calipers or the hard line.

I am assuming the Benz engineers did not get all crazy and put different
calipers on the diesel v. petrol cars (unless it be SEC). So, were I to get a
set of calipers from PnP gen II W126, I would be in the clear to install? Is
there a change from early to late calipers? Like I could use them from a SD?

The hard line is a question. There must be the same line that is used in the
petrol editions that is used in SDL as well. It is only the one line I think.
If I pull PnP 560SEL line that would be same? OR, should I remove the hard
line, take it to a brake shop and have them fab me a line? I will be doing all
this on a creeper in the rain with car on jack stands. I will also need to
install the park brake cable that came in a box with the car.

Maybe Kaleb has spare w126 brake line, caliper set that he will ship me for
cheap dollars.

[MBZ] Fw: Fw: New Ignition Switch Issue 95 E300D

2016-10-19 Thread Robert Massmann via Mercedes
I ordered and got my new tumbler and key for my 95 E300D. The internet
mercedes shop I was dealing with could not supply a matching key and tumbler
to the car. I was amazed when I found out the local Mercedes dealership
charged the same price for the tumbler and key, and I didn't even have to
pay shipping. I ordered it on Monday and picked it up today. I got installed
when I got home tonight.

The steps I went through to complete the key/tumbler change, which was made
more difficult because I couldn't get the key back to the removal position.

1) Remove the the headlight control knob, should be just a straight pull of
the knob
2) Removed the plastic trim that hides the screws that hold the lower dash
cover below the steering column
3) I removed the instrument cluster to access the ( 2 ) screws that hold the
steering column

4) You may need to disconnect the wires from the steering itself
5) I tried to remove the steering column, but couldn't figure that out ( I
have an electric advance-retract column )
6) Since the tumbler is in the off position, the push pin, see attached
photo, can not be depressed to release the steering lock assembly from the
steering column.

7) Remove the screw that clamps the steering lock to the steering column.
8) Then grind the release pin down until can removed the steering lock
assembly, you may need to towels and rags to protect the car interior
9) I next removed the ( 2 ) screws that attach steering column to the dash
structure, this is done so that you can remove the steering lock assembly
from the column
10) Rotate the column clockwise until you have the room to pull and remove
the steering lock assembly from the column
11) With the steering lock out, you can grind through the steel protective
sleeve to gain access to the hole to release tumbler from the steering lock.
You need to make ( 2 ) cuts 180 degrees apart, I actually had to make
a third cut, to remove the sleeve
NOTE: Be very careful how deep you go, if you go too deep you may make the
steering lock housing unusable
12) At this point you can assemble the steering lock assembly back into the
steering column try to center the push pin with the hole in the steering
column and tighten the

 clamp screw
13) You now can reattach the steering column to the dash and put the
instrument cluster back
14) If you have the new tumbler and protective sleeve these can be installed
now, make sure the ignition switch is in the run position and with the steel
protective sleeve over the tumbler and key installed in tumbler, orient the
key to match the position of the ignition and slide the assembly into the
steering lock and push until the sleeve locks in place. Take this part
carefully, as I didn't get it in the correct position and had to remove it
and realigned things and try again.

15) reinstall dash covers and plastic and you should be good to go!

Bob, explain this again? How did you get up to the point that you could
use the abrasive cut-off wheel? I think you said that you removed the
entire steering column?

I'm going to have a similar fight with the "95 124 Cabriolet, keys are
missing and the ignition tumbler / lock assembly looks like it has been
broken free of the steering column in a failed attempt to steal the car. I
have the steering column from Wilton's '87 300D, plan is to install that
with a new tumbler matched to the VIN so one key opens doors and trunk as
well as operates the ignition.

Thanks,
Max

Certainly it is that type of fear that is tempered in the structure of

The (R) flunkies are afraid to stand up to the (D) lies.

So DJT appears and is unafraid of the (D) lies.

The (D) fraud is not only voter fraud. As Mitch points out, it is top

Used may be better than what it on the car at the moment. I can sort of test
the PnP parts when I pull them. I am pretty sure the shop just whipped out a
catalogue instead of doing more than shine a light on it. The on my ones
could be rebuilt once they come off. Or they could be just fine

There were some researchers on GMA this morning, one of which has been
researching the voting process for over 20 years.

The instances of actual voting fraud or irregularities that could not be
attributed to clerical errors or outright mistakes in the last two presidential
elections were in the range of less than 200. Pretty much statistically
insignificant.

I for one have worked the polls in many places since I was a teenager, and I
will say that from my experience the likelihood of voter fraud on the scale
suggested by a current presidential candidate simply doesn't exist.

Re: [MBZ] 2.3 Liter 4 Cylinder?

2016-10-19 Thread Curley McLain via Mercedes
Both Idaho and Montana are running over with hollyweird wackos with far
more money than brains.

Montana is where the real whack-a-doodles go although I guess there
are probably some in Idaho too.
I just read the second Jack Reacher book, it revolves around a militia
in Montana, good book...

Re: [MBZ] WAY OT: If Trump Should Win the Election

2016-10-19 Thread Rick Knoble via Mercedes
He won't win. It's rigged. He is part of the rig. Here is my FB post on the
topic. For most folks I'm sure it is TL;DR or too long, didn't read.

Enjoy. This will be my only post on this subject.

Okay. With all the hoopla over the upcoming presidential election, I figure I
will post my take on things. Some effort is required on your part, to
understand where I am coming from.
First things first. Do you know the meaning of the word "Kayfabe"? No? Here's a
link, please read the article, it's rather interesting.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kayfabe

You really read it, right? Especially the subtitle "Trump buys WWE Monday Night
Raw". Go back and read it

Okay, now I need you to watch a video. Understand that the two executive
looking guys really are executives of their respective corporations. Each of
them is worth well in excess of a billion dollars.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMKFIHRpe7I=em

I've always found WWF, WWE entertaining, especially this clip. Didn't you?

Now, the final thing I need for you to do, to exactly understand my
perspective, is this. Take a long hard look at this picture.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/03/17/the-wedding-that-explains-the-election.html

Read the first paragraph (rest of the article is kayfabe). Hillary (and
Chelsea) sat in the front row of Donald and Melania Trumps wedding. In front of
Donald's children. You know, the place where Donald's parents would have sat,
were they alive.

Get it yet?
