I have a garage door that recently began acting up, a problem in the

On my '87 TD, I simply plugged the hole and then tapped into the small
vacuum port coming off the top of the vacuum pump, ran longer piece of
tubing to get vacuum where needed.

I think that both slave and master can leak internally, but low fluid
does indicate an external leak. Would that leaking brake fluid flow
down to a weep hole at bottom of engine/transmission joint?
Just because the MB is new doesn't mean it's not suspect, it's just less

Dieselvolk,
I had a couple of hours on Saturday in the garage, so I attempted to
replace all three motor mounts in my '87 wagon, which sorely needed
them. Got the two front mounts replaced; they were not collapsed to the
point that they failed the 13mm test, but they were somewhat collapsed
and
I had a '79 528i that ate a few slave cylinders, and I never found any
evidence of a leak, but you're probably right as I can't see how they
can leak internally.
My original post should have read Just because the MC is new doesn't

I'd say that the engine is probably OK, but who knows how long it will
last or how it's been treated. Ask if seller has any service records,
maintenance booklet, etc. etc. Another way of getting an idea would be
to ask about mileage of last oil change and date of last valve
adjustment, and
I also don't think it's worth more than a few hundred dollars; rusty,
high mileage, can't test drive it to discover all the issues it may
have.
