Actually, that kind of 'meet n greet" probably works just about
anywhere. I had stopped at a fast food place just off I95 back in 87 and
was in some car or other - probably a Malibu - and as I like to do I checked
the oil. A guy in a W126 parked near by and we starte
I rec'd a muffler via UPS which was taped and bubbled wrapper (mostly on the
ends) and there were no problems that I know of.
It must be something difficult to damage though so it won't have a box to
absorb hits.
What are you shipping?

Thanks John
Was all of this UPS? It sounds like shipping a drive shaft without boxing
is a go.

I changed the oil today and I checked the post that goes down the center
of the oil filter. I checked the hole in the end and the hole near the top
of the post - both seemed clear but there was a blockage about 2" up from
the bottom. It seemed to be very solid. I tried to push it
Hmmm.so, should I force the obstruction out? Or is it ok with the tube
partially obstructed? Maybe it's designed like that?
Thx --

Hi Fred,
Well, we need more explanation than "brake scrape" -- was it brake pad
squeal? or metal to metal? If the brake pads are squealing, there's a paste
available at FLAPS that may work.If metal to metal - then the caliper
piston has stuck and the other pad has worn down in 2 months - w

Besides you can't see how the pistons are - if the tops of the pistons are

The answer is a definitive, it depends. If the engine had 2 or 3 pistons
without damaged rings when it started, it's possible another 1,2 or 3
rings/pistons broke while it was running during the "tuning it around" time.
Anytime a car with possibly damaged (but perhaps not com
Hi Kevin -
It all depends on how bad the rings are - engines don't always do what you
think they will do. I know what you mean about the sound of the starter,
but compression to start the engine vs compression to allow the starter to
spin easily are 2 different things - having very low compres
