Yes, I replaced tstat with a new MB unit from the classic center. It made no
difference.
There is a short hose under the tstat housing which leaks. After the car is
driven and comes to normal operating temp, this hose will leak coolant. I'm
theorizing that once the coolant cools and de pressuri
I got Curt and Dwight's former 240D to start this am in 14 degree temp. I put
it through two 30 sec glow cycles and one 20 sec crank and it fired up.
Compression couldn't be that bad!
It still does it's weird temp fluctuation thing so I can only drive it around
town for now.

other cars. Finding OE interior parts on many ten year old cars is nearly
impossible. Not so with Mercedes.
Asian cars parts are also quite pricey, more so than quality European car

bought it.
I also have a HF 2 ton aluminum racing jack which works perfectly and is easy

ease.
Obviously the door flap should be dealt with or not. I never bothered, just
carry some lock de-icer with me or don't lock door overnight. You shouldn't

I agree. Engineered is garbage. It will always have a cheap look to it. The pre
finished is nice but it has a subtle bevel and a finish which is too perfect.
These both detract in my opinion. The best is solid wood sanded then finished.

on my 240D which I started - outside as my new garage is still under
construction!
