It's amazing how often things aren't all that broken, and if you're willing to expend a little time and don't care too much about the cosmetics you can save quite a bit of cash. Not to mention the built-in smugness factor of having saved something from the landfill. But you lose too, sometimes.

I took some JB Weld and glued the key into the keyway and made the hole a bit smalller. It took some fitting with a file and some sandpaper but now everything fits tightly again. I was concerned about strength but I mowed the lawn and everything was fine. It's not ShoeGoo but not bad...
