None of those studies are controlled for reduction in trans fats, so they are
meaningless.
In the stuff I read, there is a single study done some time ago (drug company
funded) that indicates there is any effect on longevity, the others do not show
any significant effect.
None of them control
I keep hearing that statins are safe, effective, and well tolerated. Somehow I
can't wrap my head around a drug being well tolerated when 52% of those
prescribed it suffering from severe enough side effects to have to stop taking
it, and some of those side effects can be quite severe.

EDTA has a long and confused history. Doctors have been sent to prison for
making a racket out of "cleaning the blood with IV EDTA."
Accepted uses for chelation therapy, which includes EDTA, include removal of
heavy metals from the body such as lead.

A recent study of the results of a number of studies of the results of taking
statins shows that statins work in "some" people, but not in others. This is
one of the few studies that were "not" financed by big drug.

Yep. Studies not paid for by pharm companies show that statins do
little or no good, but serious medical problems rise for those on them.
I had the industrial Doc at Ames Lab explain that to me during a

While you are looking things up, also look up a material called "EDTA" .
The lookup will give you the chemical name for it, but it's a non

I had this discussion with my new doctor this year. I've never been a fan of
statins, as I've never been convinced that there was any real data indicating a
mechanism for moderately elevated cholesterol causing heart disease. In fact,
sans cholesterol you would be dead, so it's presence in the

Glad, you are,Ok but there is,research now,on why you should NOT
take, statins. So maybe your new Dr. Is,more, current on research. They can
have side effects & are minimally effective at preventing heart disease.
Any MD's on the list who can check me on this?
