What exactly does the customer support do on the pay sites if your bid doesn't
go through?
Do they go ahead and buy the item for you anyways?
Or do they do the same thing the free sites do and say sorry about that, we'll
try to make sure it doesn't happen again?

The reason I asked the question is that I recently started using Gavelsnipe
after paying another site for a number of years. Gavelsnipe has worked very
well for me and I now wonder how long the other sites will be able last if they
continue charging a fee for sniping.

Folks-At this time I have 126 terrific Hollywood Glamour photos up on eBay

some bargains. Even those that have bids are @ crazy low prices! Check it out!

I also recently started using Gavelsnipe and have been very satisified with it.
Its only drawback as far as I can tell, and it's a minor one, is that you can
only bid using a single ebay account, whereas eSnipe (the pay sniping service I
also use) allows you to bid using different ebay

I've used Gavelsnipe for over a year and it's generally been very good. The
only recent exception was last Sunday's Heritage Internet auction in which
Gavelsnipe failed to snipe two of the three lots I bid on. Nobody's perfect,

I have yet to meet anyone who was not satisfied with Gavelsnipe's service and
reliability.

My installed sniper also has the problem of not working at times when

It is a joke how many ultra low prices there are on solid posters in nice
condition, and they start ending in minutes!
There are 23 items with no bids (3%), 120 items at $1 or with no bids
(17%), 151 items at $2 or less (22%), 204 items at $3 or less (29%), 250
items at $4 or less (36%), and 281

How
Funny. I wonder how long a business can last without actually charging for
their services.
From a technical stand point, it seems like the best solution would be to have
the individual auction houses support snipe bidding. So, when you bid on eBay
or emovieposter, you could just register
Gavelsnipe charges plenty for their services.
We pay them every month so that it is free for our customers.

Funny.
Evan, it wouldn't work on eMoviePoster.com, because all our auctions are
time-extended, as all auctions were prior to eBay. If your bid was placed
within the last five minutes, it would be counter-productive, for it would
extend the auction.

It seems like you could add that feature to your web site and not have to pay
them every month.
However, it seems like a bit of a conflict of interest. Basically, the
argument for sniping is that the
buyer will get a better price on the item. As the auction house, your

Bruce et al,
I don't know why it could be set to where it would bid up until your limit in a
time extended auction.
This would require a little software maybe, but then I wouldn't have to sit
here and wait until all the
five minute increments have played out.

Yes, we could add a sniping feature to our website and not pay them every month.
But we have opted to go with more transparency.
This way you know your bid is with a third party company and there is no way
that we can find it out.
Sniping is also about saving our customers time. Not everyone has
