Hello JP! and List;
I guess I should clarify myself here. In no way did I mean that the
Empowerment Zone helped or is helping the businesses named, Sorry if that's
what appeared to sound like. I was just meaning instead of these type
places. There should be other more positive businesses in
I too felt like I was living in Fallujah on July 4th. We thought the tenants
from hell in the corner house had moved out. This was evidenced by the stock
pile of broken down furniture and crap piled on the boulevard spilling into the
street. Since, it didn't get placed out there until Friday,

her policies and those policies should be the best for the

I'm shocked, shocked to hear that one candidate for the DFL endorsement
would take steps block other candidates, who also want that endorsement,
from getting it. Boy has campaigning stooped to a new low ;o)
Also Mr. Remington accuses Mr. Persons of personal attacks and then accuses
him of
As I start the e-mail, there are 7 squad cars in my parking lot dusting a
stolen Lexus. Four members of the “bogus gang” stole this lexus and shot
five times at a rival gang member on Lake and Park earlier this afternoon.
These brain surgeons then raced to my parking lot and jumped out of the car

An article in this week's Skyway News (July 4-10) reports on the condo project

their
project to a ridiculous 48 floors...which apparently drew the ire and scorn
of Citizens for a Loring Park Community.

I concur. Of course, none of this has anything to do with
substantive municipal issues. Mr. Remington, of course, would not be
the first candidate to complain about campaign tactics as a means of
avoiding a debate on the real issues.
And, as I said before when R.T.'s campaign briefly

Neither Loring Park, Lowry Hill or Elliot Park need to be over-run
with these monolithic skypollutin towers. These neighborhoods
are the historic heart of Minneapolis. They should not be glassed
and steeled and Starbucksed to oblivion.

I am surprised that the campaign in Ward 10 appears to be getting so far down
in the mud. I expected substantive campaigns that would focus on the issues
facing city hall. At this point in the game I don't think it matters who tried
to block who at the endorsing convention. We all have war

The architect's drawings of the 48 and now the 39 story structures
seems oddly out of proportion to reality...deliberately?

We clearly have a lot of people in the city who prefer more intensity in land
use (tall buildings) rather than less. Why shouldn't we allow them a place to
live in our city? If not in the neighborhoods that are around downtown, then
where?

I agree with Nick. I love Grant
