Jan,

I keep my templates in my original file. They are under a folder called
templates and it is marked as hide the branch in to do. I just copy and
paste and do not inherit contexts (because I already set them up with the
project template)

Re: [MLO] How can I link 2 tasks other than by using "dependency"?

2018-04-13 Thread John . Smith
Yes that's slightly useful, athough slightly hard to locate.

What turns out to be more useful is clicking on the task's row itself,
without clicking on the tasks title [e.g. on the Icons column in my setup]
works quite well for me as it takes me from a list view (e.g. when I am
looking at my starred list for today) directly to the hierarchical All
Tasks view. And then double-clicking again conveniently take me back to my
Starred view.

But is there is a way to do this with hotkeys (which would be much faster)?
Enter + Shift
Enter + Control
Enter + Alt
Or any other combination of the above ...} all seem to take me into editing
the title.

[MLO] Re: A piece of advice on tasks

2018-04-13 Thread Stéph
I agree that it is important to be able to record a task as not done /
aborted / superseded. Not many task managers have an easy way of doing
that. The way I do it in MLO is to have a category "-Superseded", which I
set when I check the task off. I have an autoformatting rule to set a
little, red "X" icon in icon position 0, right next to the checkmark.

2018-04-13 Thread MOK | MATSURU
Dear Domas,

In MLO android, Settings>General Settings>Quick Date selections

Change due date → start date

If you frequently set bort start & due date, then choose "Do Not Open any
date"

Hope this is helpful :-)

Re: [MLO] A piece of advice on tasks

2018-04-13 Thread MOK | MATSURU
1 of the way i use MLO is to track the freelance job.
When I have finished the jobbut still waiting for payment, i would not want
to CHECK it off as done. coz i might forget to follow up if i check it off.
So, instead, I add some "tags" or "symbols" to the task, like ✓ or [ ✓done
]

Example:
Task name when project is active =
Draw storyboard for project X Client Z

Task name when project is done but waiting for payment with waiting for
subtask=
✓ Draw storyboard for project X Client Z
WF: Payment

this way, by looking at the project/task name, i know the project is done &
i am waiting for payment.

i also have a CONTEXT call "WFP: Waiting For Payment" separate from "WF:
Waiting For"
so, it is not confusing when i looked at them. :-)

Hope this is helpful.

[MLO] A piece of advice on tasks

2018-04-13 Thread alex . yue . guo
When dealing with different tasks in MLO, I often encounter situations
where I need to abort the task.

For example, the project is based on daily operations and I've created a
list of tasks named "Jan.1" "Jan.2" etc. Sometimes I need to cross the
single task but not delete it, and later carry out the next day's
operations.

So I believe it would be nice for MLO to add an option to cross a task off.

What's your opinion on this matter? Or have I missed such function in MLO?
