OK, so you got the version from sunfreeware.com. Steve and I talked before
he uploaded his version and it does support HOST-RESOURCES-MIB (as far as I
know).

1. Did you read and follow the instructions in README.solaris?
2. Did you turn off Sun's daemons as instructed?

./snmpd -C -c "./snmpd.conf;./snmp.conf" -Lsd
results in the following debug error message
"No log handling enabled - turning on stderr logging"
Logging messages are sent to syslog, but the log file
is created in the directory given in the conf
