Re: NPNY: Anyone know if Prince made any response

2009-07-23 Thread Victor
Prince's death would have as much impact on his fans as MJ's death. If
it doesn't it will more than likely be because Prince will have died of
old age. Beyond the fans; the rest of the world will take notice and
move on. There won't be this annoying over coverage like MJ's death
because there probably won't be any controversy to report I'm sure.

"Today Prince died of natural causes. Considered by many to be a musical
genius. And since we can't turn his death into a media circus; let's see
what Madonna is up to"

Can you tell I've had enough of hearing bout MJ's death. :)

As for Prince destroying his fan base. Perhaps. But the last time I
checked this was still a list where we discuss Prince no? Yes a lot of
us will bitch and moan; but point us in the direction of some new (or
unreleased) Prince tracks and we'll lap it up :)

BTW if MJ's death has done anything, it's made me appreciate that
regardless how much of an ass Prince can be sometimes; he hasn't made of
mess of things and is still putting out music this late in the game.
(knock on wood) Who would have thunk it? :)

Victor

Tavis is on again at midnight (or round bout that time) on PBS 13 on
Time Warner Cable (or however you get PBS 13). Look and you will see
that it says Prince is on the late night showing on both nights.

I know Tavis comes on channel 13 in New York but I can't see the interview
listed for Monday. Stupid Time Warner Cable says Tracey Ullman on Monday

and

Mary Higgins Clark on Tuesday. And it says Prince and Bria on Wednesday at
12am but shows no prior solo interview. This is pissing me off. Does

anyone

Re: NPNY: Two New Pics on LotusFlower site

2009-02-13 Thread Victor
I don't know. I looked at the image and realized that Prince is getting
old like the rest of us. And maybe he's just not trying to hide the
fact. I mean really; the guy's going be hit his 60s eventually and the
ravishes of age will effect him too. God help us if he goes the route of
other aging rock stars decides to attempt butt-less pants and 80s,
"Purple Rain" hair to recapture his youth.

I will probably purchase it before the end of the week so I can get it at

Regardless of what musical style made the term iconic in music; we know
Prince is just using religious imagery in the same way he's done
countless time. I mean how is this any different than the song "7";
which is full of religious imagery. As for it being used for something
trivial; I don't know. I read the lyrics someone transcribed and while
I'm not exactly sure what he's singing about exactly; doesn't sound
trivial :)

Gotta disagree with you Derek, the album actually doesn't suck except
for that annoying "Mr Good Night" song. :) There were two song I really
hated on 3121 and there probably 1 1/2 songs I can do without on PE.

As for the Chaos & Disorder comparison..Chaos & Disorder is actually a
good album IMHO. Of course I prefer my Prince being his own eclectic
self rather than Prince trying to imitate the crappy popular music
that's "hip" with the kids today.

Prince DOES need to forget about what might be popular with the rest of
the world and get back to doing HIS music though. Sit down with Wendy &
Lisa (or alone since we know he can do it) and produce a quirky Prince
album. And NO I don't mean another Purple Rain. I'm thinking more
"Lovesexy" or "Come".
