I agree Robin. Prince does not care a fig about his fans. If he did, he'd
behave a lot differently towards us. I know a lot of people say it is crazy
to expect anything from him, that he owes us nothing Maybe I'm too simple
because I don't think that is true. He does owe us respect. We've given it
I agree, it is getting more and more ridiculous every day. Even the picture
of him is particularly attrocious. He looks like a corpse.
Did you see the
latest article about him? He makes a headline because he is performing in
his house...and to a more exclusive (read: smaller) group this year.
Totally agree. The New Yorker is not known for sensational journalism. I also
agree that this is a sad development for those of us who have followed him a
long time.
The difference here Derek, in my opinion, is that in the past we
haven't seen evidence of such distain. I understand growing and
I hate this crap. $300+ for a ticket WHERE Do we even KNOW FOR SURE
he'll
perform?
Maybe I am becoming Prince-jaded. Maybe Im getting too old for
nonsense and money is too hard to come by.

I saw a couple of American Idol concerts (yeah well, it was fun), and was
surprised to hear the top 10 perform the chorus of Prince's America a few
times, as an addendum to another song. I wonder if he knows they are using
his
song?
I doubt it is a copyright violation (not that I have an actual
a spike in Prince activity

I agree, too. It boggles the mind how he keeps shooting himself in the

Yeah, I think we are all used to his nuttiness but this smacks of actual
insanity and so I totally wonder what he could be thinking. Surely there had
to be some logic and reason in this decision.
From the articles I've read it seems Universal UK AND the record stores are
so pissed at him. Why

Yup
Ok, I apologize. My last email rant neglected to note the $15,000 east coast
gig in the Hamptons. I dare say that doesn't count as a real possibility for
most people, me included.

I finally have the time and money to head to NYC to see the Prince
photography. (A minor consolation to not being able to afford two fares to see
him in L.V.) For those of you who have gone or are familiar with the gallery,
is there a dress code or are jeans okay?
Also, what is the best subway
You know, lots of other artists actually support their fans endeavors on
their behalf.
I understand that he and Universal have the right to do this. But it
smacks a little of biting the hand that feeds you.

I think people were so shocked there was no controversy that they made one up.
Seriously, where have they been? Aren't all guitars phallic symbols of sorts?
Are they going to ban ALL guitars now? Give all concerts a NC-17 rating?
Get

I wonder, if there isn't a lesson here for us. To do the things that are
truly our hearts desires. To live each day as if it is our last.

yet her passing weighs so heavily. My deepest sympathies to those of you
