I live in Japan and fequently have the need to create documents in Japanese.
I would like to stop using WYSIWYG type word processing and switch over to TeX
based systems. I've been starting and am learning to use ConTeXt but I've
still a long way to go.

authoryear word inside bst files. I think it usefulness is only for
publications list.
2. ConTeXt produces a .bbl file from which it retrieves the
bibliographical information. The authorname used

shaping, most OpenType engines (including the one Hans wrote for
LuaTeX) don't support them for other scripts. However, you can use
contextual substitution to implement the word boundary logic into your
OpenType

Many years ago I used LaTeX quite a bit for academic work, including a
fair amount of Memoir class. Back then ConTeXt was quite new, so I
didn't mess with it much.
Now I'm back and sick of Word/etc for the documents I need to produce
as print/pdf and for interaction with colleagues. What I can't
a solution. Maybe just a word explaining why I find it a
waste of time to do work on such transitions in simpleslides: even if we
accept, for the sake of the argument, that such transitions are more
than a mere distraction, it is almost impossible to get acceptable
results across platforms and pdf

command).
