Re: [NTG-context] where to break a long header

2021-06-06 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
This minimal I ran with «ConTeXt ver: 2021.06.04 17:28 MKI» and got two PDF
files:
One «test.pdf» as expected and one called «test-pdf-keep.pdf».

What's the reason behind this double feature?

Ok. Each run now creates 4 additional files:

file_name-tuc-02.tmp
file_name-tuc-03.tmp
file_name-tuc-04.tmp
file_name-tuc-05.tmp

Is this right?

[NTG-context] randomizer line-breaking

2021-06-08 Thread Steffen Wolfrum

Hi Hans,

is there some kind of randomizer involved in line-breaking?

I have a 458 pages project, a book of humanities.

When I immediately typeset (engine=luatex) it a second time, the resulting PDF
differs on 14 pages, diffpdf-compared to the original PDF
when I typeset it a third time, the resulting PDF differs on 7 pages,
when I typeset it a forth time, the resulting PDF differs on 12 pages,
when I typeset it a fifth time, the resulting PDF differs on 0 pages.

"differs" means that there a paragraphs (mostly footnotes, rarely in the main
text) that show different line-breaking: This doesn't mean wrong hyphenation,
just *different* hyphenation, different each time.

As you can imagine, I can't provide a minimal example for this, only the entire
project-folder and the entire context-standalone.

Steffen

Besides plenty of numbers that differ, there are also entire lines that differ:

One frequent difference for examples is line 2 (macros) and 3 (randomseed) in
this:

utilitydata.job.variables.collected={
["macros"]={},
["randomseed"]=0x1.c14cd54cp-1,
["sectionblockorder"]={ "frontpart", "bodypart", "backpart" },

Another difference that pops up 1000 times is this line
["used"]="fit",

in situation like this:
utilitydata.structures.references.collected={
["02"]={
 ["*101"]={
  ["metadata"]=678,
  ["references"]={
   ["block"]="bodypart",
   ["internal"]=102,
   ["prefix"]="02",
   ["realpage"]=16,
   ["reference"]="*101",
   ["section"]=3,
   ["used"]="fit",
   ["view"]="fit",
   ["x"]=25526152,
   ["y"]=36448045,
  },
 },

Does this help?

PS: The entire problem began when I started using hyphenation-exceptions...

not that I know of.

I searched through both, the project folder and my modules (in context
standalone), both «random» nowhere was to be found.

perhaps I incidently use a command that utilizes random... what could this be?

Before I posted my initial posting «randomizer line-breaking» I already spent
days and weeks boiling down this phenomenon. Unfortunately the random output
made it impossible for me to make a smaller, but *working* (i.e. showing the
bug) example. It just appears sometimes, sometimes it doesn't – in between two
runs I changed nothing: «As you can imagine, I can't provide a minimal example
for this, only the entire project-folder and the entire context-standalone.»

So my hope was that Hans (and Wolfgang et al.) know how things are chained
together.
For example: Which ConTeXt command uses randomizer? I have no idea what goes on
behind my user interface. Others maybe do.
Another example: The problem only appears when using start-/stopexceptions. Is
there a connection between exceptions and random output on the level of low
level code, maybe?

[NTG-context] hyphenate nothyphenated

2021-06-29 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
When running this mwe with luatex, the command \- could be used to manually
break the line, even though it is set up nothyphenated.

When running luametatex the word does not break:

\setuppapersize[A10]

Is this intended?

[NTG-context] Accessibility

2024-09-17 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

in summer 2015 there was a thread about accessibility.

Today I am looking for a solution for «images with alternate text»
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alt_attribute
). In HTML it looks like this:

Is there an equivalent for this with ConTeXt?

Yours, Steffen

You don't *need* to intall MacTeX, but it is by far the easiest and
most convenient way to start.

If you can afford to download it, do it!

[NTG-context] showfont with xetex (syntax changed?)

when in february 2006 I asked for an alternative to fontspec that
could show me opentype features, Adam wrote:

I find that the lcdf typetools are a tremendous help:

Today this showfont-line doesn't work anymore:

\definetypeface[oneliner][rm][Xserif][Warnock Pro][default]

\oneliner Test WQG 0196

\showfont["Warnock Pro: +smcp"]

Someone knows what to do?

I have not yet played with Lua, thus I can't follow your and Mojca's

But to have a handy way to switch on/off oldstyle figures would be
very useful!

"numbers=oldstyle" shouldn't be considered as a theoretical
possibility, it is needed quite often.

[NTG-context] backward compatibility [URGENT]

2007-12-06 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

re-typesetting a book (that was last set with ConTeXt ver:
2007.08.09) I had to see that several pages now have a different line-
break (and so the page-break and the TOC and the index register are
changed) ... quite a mess.

I guess is not so easy to find out what changes in the ConTeXt source
result in these changes now.
So to continue work it will be probably better to downgrade again my
ConTeXt.

Is there an easy way to do this, like using sudo ctxtools --
updatecontext and use the respective files from the museum?

Thanks,

Steffen

only, what should I diff?? my project's files haven't changed (just
used the old ones again).
and the tex/context source files were updated and thus overwritten.

isn't there a way to point the command ...

sudo ctxtools --updatecontext

... to the respective (2007.08.09) files in the museum and downgrade
my system again?

Re: [NTG-context] backward compatibility [URGENT]

2007-12-07 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Good morning Hans,

back to the desktop I looked at the differences in the log files.
I think this is the relevant change::

now ->

systems : system commands are enabled
(./DH_X.tuo) (./DH_X.tuo) (./DH_X.tuo) (./DH_X.tuo) (./DH_X.tuo) (./
DH_X.tuo)
(./DH_X.tuo) (./DH_X.tuo) (./DH_X.tuo) (./DH_X.tuo)
(/usr/local/texlive/2007/../texmf-local/tex/context/base/sort-def.tex
(/usr/local/texlive/2007/../texmf-local/tex/context/base/sort-def.mkii))
(/usr/local/texlive/2007/../texmf-local/tex/context/base/sort-lan.tex

with version 2007.08.09 ->

systems : system commands are enabled
(./DH_X.tuo) (./DH_X.tuo) (./DH_X.tuo) (./DH_X.tuo) (./DH_X.tuo) (./
DH_X.tuo)
(./DH_X.tuo) (./DH_X.tuo) (./DH_X.tuo) (./DH_X.tuo)
(/usr/local/texlive/2007/../texmf-local/tex/context/base/sort-lan.tex

could this result in different line-breaks?
if so, what should I change in order to get the older output back?

Best,

(it was set with pdftex)

I made some tests: In some cases |-| still works (it looks to me as
if the priorities in the linebraking rules were mixed up?! But this
can't be ...).

Thus it is not so easy to make a representative example.
But look at the following, simulating a real example:

\usetypescript[postscript][ec]
\setupencoding[default=ec]
\mainlanguage[de]
\enableregime[utf]

\showframe

\setupbodyfont[postscript,14.5pt]
  \def\myFNnumber#1{\hskip1.15em{\switchtobodyfont[8pt]#1}\enskip}

\setupfootnotedefinition[command=
\myFNnumber,indentnext=yes,location=serried]

\starttext

\setnumber[footnote]{217}% this is broken, the next FN-number should
be 218

§§\,130 - 136 IGB (3.\,Teil 1.\,Kapitel 6.\,Abschnitt). }.

\stoptext

Now the line breaking is as such:
218
Teil 1. Kapitel 6.
Abschnitt).

Four months ago the same text came out like this:
218
Teil 1. Kapitel 6. Abschnitt).

Help please!!

[NTG-context] extended dictionary / hyphenation patterns

2007-12-11 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

I guess German is famous for its monstrous compound words ;o(

So I have a manually collected lists of hyphenation patterns (like
"\hyphenation{Selbst-kon-troll-ein-rich-tung}").
This I'd like to keep as a two separate files: on for usage with the
body-text set in \mainlanguage[deo] and one for \mainlanguage[de].

Is there a handy way to automatically assign and include one of these
files (HyPold and HyPnew) to the usage of the respective \mainlanguage
[deo] and [de] ?

Did I? I use utf-8 (or at least texnansi) encoded documents as
input ... so no need for "a to get ä, "s to get ß at all!!!

... or do you mean something else (hyphens? compound words?)?

That's exactly my experience too.
These mappings are used and still needed.

is there [with mkii] a better / more economical way to write those
yourfile.tex collections than

\hyphenation{Selbst-kon-troll-ein-rich-tung}
\hyphenation{Selbst-kon-troll-ein-rich-tun-gen}
\hyphenation{Be-triebs-prü-fung}
\hyphenation{Be-triebs-prü-fun-gen}
\hyphenation{Teil-as-pek-te}
\hyphenation{Teil-as-pek-ten}

Thanks Taco...

\hyphenation{
Selbst-kon-troll-ein-rich-tung
Selbst-kon-troll-ein-rich-tun-gen
Be-triebs-prü-fung
Be-triebs-prü-fun-gen
Teil-as-pek-te
Teil-as-pek-ten

... but this works only when included in a specific "component" but
not for an entire project.
When \hyphenation{...} is written in the environment file it doesn't
work (same for writing \mainlangage[de] \input MyCompound.tex in the
environment file).

this looks like a clean way (assigns automatically with the chosen
\mainlanguage).

by default lang-de.hyp is empty ... does this indicate that it is
actually meant for user entries?

Exactly: As I nearly got mad yesterday, for I couldn't see a
difference between \, and \‚ (and my document didn't want run for
that error) I wanted to try all text-editor related software that I
could found on my machine, also a beta that expired on 15th December ...

That's right. I love TextWrangler too. Just the fixed-width Monaco
doesn't show a visual difference between \‚ and \,
But the trick with re-opening the UTF encoded file with ISO-Latin-1
is nice: now finally the difference is viewable!!

Just to have a proper (fixed-width) font that pays respect to this
difference (like between – and -) would be great!!

[NTG-context] hyphenation again (mkii)

2007-12-17 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

please have a look at the following minimal (4 text-lines):

\hyphenation{Er-gän-zungs-lie-fe-rung}
\showframe

\starttext

Text text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text 26.\,Ergänzungslieferung% this should brake after Ergän-

Text text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text 26.\,Ergänzungslieferung% this does NOT brake after 26.

\stoptext

I need a thinspace that prevents line-break between "26." and
"Ergänzungslieferung".
On the other hand this thinspace shouldn't kill my hyphenation points
(i.e. the word should stay breakable)!

Any idea?

The tilde sign "~" would be perfect, it is just to wide:

\hyphenation{
Er-gän-zungs-lie-fe-rung
}
\showframe
\starttext

Text text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text 26.~Ergänzungslieferung% this should brake after Ergän-

Text text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text 26.\,Er-gänzungslieferung% this should NOT brake after 26.

\stoptext

Is there something that is narrow as \, or \thinspace but behaves
(see above) like ~ ???

[NTG-context] \version[temporary]

2007-12-18 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

I don't know how many of you know/use this command above. It is quite
useful for finding over-full lines and for controlling index/register
marks.

Unfortunately sometime the info printed for "Registers" is really
hard to read (see example below).

\definepapersize[steffen][width=15.7cm,height=23.2cm]
\setuppapersize[steffen][steffen]
\setuplayout
[width=113mm,height=576pt,
backspace=20mm,topspace=15mm,
header=12pt,headerdistance=6pt,
footer=42pt,footerdistance=0pt,
location=middle,marking=off,grid=no]
\version[temporary]
\showframe
\starttext
\dorecurse{10}{text\footnote{note\index{keyword}}\par}
\stoptext

Thus, I'd like to ask: How can I
1) kill the "References" footnote (do't need it)
2) move the "Registers" info 2cm to the right in the margin?

Thank you,

Steffen

Re: [NTG-context] hyphenation again (mkii) [solved]

2007-12-18 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Wolfgang knew the answer, and as the solution is so brilliant I don't
want to be selfish about this treasure:

\definetextmodediscretionary ThinSpace
   {\penalty\plustenthousand\hskip.166em\relax}

\definetextmodediscretionary ThickSpace
   {\penalty\plustenthousand\hskip.277em\relax}

... and in situations like "today is the 204.|ThinSpace|anniversary
of the death of Johann Gottfried von Herder" you will avoid an
unintended line-break after "204." but will keep all hyphenation
points in "anniversary". And that's great.

Cheers Johann Gottfried, btw!!

[NTG-context] (mkii) language-specific options for \placeregister[index] ?

2007-12-19 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

the following (with mkii) is probably not the most pressuring topic
to most of you ... apologies!

Although I have set \mainlanguage[de] the register seems to be
unaffected. All my cultural heritage (i.e. the Umaut) is ignored!!!

o(

The problem is the sorting – keywords containing umlauts seem to be
sorted after "e":

Bestimmung
Bühler
Bildung

Are there language-specific arguments/options for   \placeregister[index]?

Thanks,

Steffen

Jesus!
Two pages of source code for just some millimeters moving ;o) thank

Now, finally, I can actually read the info that \version[temporary]
prints on all my pages ... great.

[NTG-context] register

2008-01-04 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

for fine-tuning the TOC I use e.g. ...

\writebetweenlist [section] {\def\TOCstyle{\switchtobodyfont[9pt]
\setupinterlinespace[line=11.15pt]}}

... for adjusting the vertical space and thus the page breaks.

Is is possible to do something similar to the register?

[NTG-context] showframe - showgrid = 2pt ??

2008-01-12 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hans,

I know I've asked you this before ... I just can't find the answer
anymore ;o(
Look at line 43:

\newdimen\XVertikal
\XVertikal=12pt

\setupbodyfont[postscript,10pt] \setupinterlinespace[line=\XVertikal]

\setuplayout
[width=113mm,height=\the\dimexpr48\XVertikal-2pt\relax,
backspace=20mm,topspace=15mm,
header=\XVertikal,headerdistance=0.5\XVertikal,
footer=3.5\XVertikal,footerdistance=0pt,
location=middle,marking=on,grid=yes]

\showframe
\showgrid
\starttext
bla
\stoptext

... when "height" is made 2pt smaller then it fits:

\newdimen\XVertikal
\XVertikal=12pt

\setupbodyfont[postscript,10pt] \setupinterlinespace[line=\XVertikal]

\setuplayout
[width=113mm,height=\the\dimexpr48\XVertikal-2pt\relax,
backspace=20mm,topspace=15mm,
header=\XVertikal,headerdistance=0.5\XVertikal,
footer=3.5\XVertikal,footerdistance=0pt,
location=middle,marking=on,grid=yes]

\showframe
\showgrid
\starttext
bla
\stoptext

Does this difference has a specific purpose?
Would you recommend *not* to use the second?

[NTG-context] {{ double braces }}

2008-01-21 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

I would like to use in my documents double braces for the footnote –
for easily matching entire footnotes with RegEx (thus it can't
confuse with the nested braces) ...

text\footnote{{this is {\it one} tiny note\index{note}!}}

... and match the entire footnote with search regex for \\footnote\{\
{.+\}\}

Is this save? Or are there unwanted side-effects when using \footnote
{{ ... }} ?

[NTG-context] pdfsync / editsnc

Re: [NTG-context] pdfsync / editsnc ==> Fatal error occurred

2008-01-25 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
First I thought I found the reason for not-working in a typo:
the module is called m-editsnc, the respective file in the source is
named m-edtsnc.

But renaming the file doesn't improve much.
I assumed the following should work:

\enablemode[demo]
\usemodule[m-editsnc]
\doifnotmode{demo}{\endinput}

\chardef\editsynctracemode=3

\starttext

\chapter{Test}

\processfile{tufte}

\startitemize
\item first
\item second
\stopitemize

\processfile{tufte}

\startlines
some local \editsync sync and \editsynctext{here}a marked point
some local \editsync sync and \editsyncnode{here}a marked point
\stoplines

\stoptext

But it ends up in (complete error see below):
! ==> Fatal error occurred, no output PDF file produced!

The same with m-pdfsync:
! ==> Fatal error occurred, no output PDF file produced!

Someone can help here?

Thanks,

Steffen

[NTG-context] %18 or 18% : incorrect placement of the percentage sign ?

2008-01-31 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

I have often seen (in arabic newpapers) the percentage sign set left
to the number "% 18".
Recently I read an article (http://sehstoerung.sonance.net/pdfs/
TitusNemeth_dissertation.pdf) that calls this "... the incorrect
placement of the percentage sign".

Any native arabic speaker out there? Is it %18 or 18% ??

Thanks,

Maybe I missed the point: don't both lines produce the same output:
۱۲۳ ۴۵۶ ۷۸۹ ?

\TeXXeTstate=1
\definedfont["GeezaPro" at 16pt]

\starttext
۱۲۳ ۴۵۶ ۷۸۹

\beginL
۱۲۳ ۴۵۶ ۷۸۹
\endL

... or was this a confusion of multi-script e-mails?

Interesting lecture ... just, why does the file read: file=core-spa,

I hadn't expected changes by this version date.

Actually I use this to highlight footnotes in my texteditor: colorize
entire footnotes for for easier reading.

I am quite happy to have (on MacOSX) a text-editor that gives such
"syntax coloring" flexibility: it is Satoshi Matsumoto's Jedit X. And
here RegularExpressions are used for that purpose.

If someone knows an editor that does "syntax coloring" with lua or
gema, I'd be very interested!

[NTG-context] project structure (bug?)

2008-02-08 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

does it make sense that eg

\clubpenalty=1

doesn't work when written in a project's environment file?
It must be repeated at top of each single component in order to work.

I am wondering what else works only when written in component (and is
silently ignored although written in my environment-file) ...

What about the difference in writing in
environment file \setuplayout[grid=no] plus in component \setuplayout
[grid=yes]
compared to setting in environment file \setuplayout[grid=yes]

Why does this make a difference?

And all of them like this?

\def\defaultclubpenalty {1}
\def\defaultwidowpenalty {1}
\def\defaultdisplaywidowpenalty {1}
\def\defaultbrokenpenalty {0}

\setdefaultpenalties

I experienced also very interesting differences between setting in
environment file \setuplayout[grid=no] and in component \setuplayout
[grid=yes]
compared to setting in environment file \setuplayout[grid=yes] .

As working with grid is in itself quite fragile (and surprising) I
guess this is not explainable / avoidable?

[NTG-context] index register justification

2008-02-11 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

just by chance I found this minimal example and (while showgrid) had
a closer look at it:

\defineregister[Index][Indeces]
\showframe\showgrid
\starttext
\dorecurse{100}{
boo\Index{boo} Boo\Index{Boo}
foo\Index{foo} Foo\Index{Foo}
goo\Index{goo} Goo\Index{Goo}
\page }
\placeregister[Index][align=yes]
\stoptext

Why are the lines not fully justified?
This looks not good, esp. when the entire book is set in justified
block!

Is this a default that can be changed?

[NTG-context] how to NOT reset subsection ONLY ??

2008-04-03 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

please have a look a this:

\setupsection[section-2][conversion=numbers]
\setupsection[section-3][conversion=numbers,previousnumber=no]
\setupsection[section-4][conversion=numbers,previousnumber=no]
\setupsection[section-5][conversion=numbers,previousnumber=no]

\setuphead[section][resetnumber=no]

\chapter{aa}
\section{bbb}
\subsection{ccc}

\subsubsection{sss}

\chapter{aa}
\section{bbb}
\subsection{(<-should be 3) ccc}
\section{bbb}
\subsection{(<-should be 4) ccc}
\subsubsection{ddd}

\stoptext

trying to avoid resetting subsection by \setuphead[section]
[resetnumber=no] fails:
chapter resets everything! but chapter should only reset section and
not subsection too!!

any idea how to solve this problem (without fiddling with every
appearance of subsection individually)??

[NTG-context] Leopard and ConTeXt

2008-04-09 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi MacUsers out there,

until yesterday I worked with 10.4 and a recent context: no problem
(only mkII).
Today I finally set up a new machine with 10.5. and MacTeX, run
ctxtools --updatecontext.
Running a context-file now gives me the right context-version but
ends up with:

"TeX capacity exceeded, sorry [save size=5000]"

Well, I remember this was something about texmf.cnf (or context.cnf?).
So I changed the value to 1, remade the format but still the echo
mentions 5000.
Some known problem with Leopard and ConTeXt? Maybe PATH stuff?

=o(

Please help!!!

[NTG-context] ONE upright beta, please!

2008-04-22 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

my whole project is set in Times without problems - except at one spot
there is a "beta" needed. Just this single time!

But, unfortunately, I only get it italic:

\starttext

\usetypescript[postscript][\defaultencoding]
\setupencoding[default=texnansi]
\enableregime[utf]
\setupbodyfont[postscript,10pt] \setupinterlinespace[line=12pt]

$\beta$

β% same in unicode

\stoptext

For it is just this one character, used one single time, I don't feel
encouraged to start messing around with typescripts.

Someone can give me a quick(-and-dirty) advice??

Such a nice proper upright beta.

So it must lie somewhere in the depths of context's core source ...
there must be a way to get it it with oldschool MKII, no?!

[NTG-context] urgent reference problem (full path)

2008-04-24 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

my current project is set up like shown below.

A serious problem is the section-reference: while section numbering
should be in general (text and TOC) without previous number, it must
show the full path when referenced (otherwise nobody will find "2").

Is there help?

Thank you very much,

Steffen

Re: [NTG-context] urgent reference problem (full path)

2008-04-24 Thread Steffen Wolfrum

I don't know how the section number (with/without previous number) is
build internally, but I hope there could be a hack, with ...

setupsection[...][previousnumber=yes]% so that referencing gets the
full path

... but a section-design like "previousnumber=no", made with ...

\setuphead[...][command=\PreviousNumberNo]

Could this be done?

[NTG-context] bug with hyphenatedurl

2008-05-21 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

please have a look at the following minimal example (ran with mkii):

->

\usetypescript[postscript][\defaultencoding]
\setupencoding[default=texnansi]
\enableregime[utf]

Test text\footnote{{Z4300, Stand: 1.{|DuennRaum|}Januar\;2002,
einsehbar unter \hyphenatedurl{http://www.thw.de/thw‑inland/
grundlagen/rechtsgrundlagen/abr\_rili.htm}}}

\stoptext

<-

Just shortly before handing the PDF to the printer I saw that the part
"thw‑inland" surprisingly became "thw\dochar␣{45}inland" (at least
on my machine)!

Is there a fix?

;o)

... you can buy a czech version or a polish version, for working with
hebrew you may buy a hebrew or a middle eastern version ... and wasn't
there also an arabic version to buy?

With TeX you only have one piece for all ... and you can't even buy it.

[NTG-context] startregister <-> stopregister

Hi,

converting a MSWord Doc file to TEI-XML gives me this kind of index
range:

Verfassungsvertrag

Unfortunately in ConTeXt the register entry is required the other way
round:

\startregister[index][knuthrange1]{Knuth}

\stopregister[index][knuthrange1]

Could it be possible also to provide something like ...

[NTG-context] Switching compression on breaks start/stopregister

2008-07-04 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

there seems to be confusion with register entries vs. register ranges.
Please have a look:

\starttext
KNUTH ONE entry \index{Knuth}
\page
\input knuth
KNUTH START\startregister[index][knuthrange1]{Knuth}
\input knuth
KNUTH END\stopregister[index][knuthrange1]
\dorecurse{10}{\input zapf }
KNUTH START\startregister[index][knuthrange2]{Knuth}
\dorecurse{10}{\input knuth }
KNUTH END\stopregister[index][knuthrange2]
%\placeregister[index]% gives 1,2, 4-6
\placeregister[index][compress=yes]% gives 1-2, 4, 6

Switching compression on breaks start/stopregister!

[NTG-context] hyphenatedurl (WHY?)

2008-07-11 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

God bless the command \hyphenatedurl{...} !

Only, I am wondering why it starts a new line not *after* but *before*
the slash, dot or whatever there is to structure a long url.
Is this an english/dutch convention, completely different than
paragraph wrapping? Or is it common usus, just me never noticed it
outside ConTeXt??

[NTG-context] serious trouble with postponefootnotes

2008-07-13 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

in a huge document (about 450 pages 1200 footnotes) I used
postponefootnotes/flushfootnotes.
Annoyingly this changed the page break for the entire book not only at
the affected pages ...

Searching the archive gave me a post by horaciosuarez_at_hotmail.com
who had a similar problem in July 2007. Unfortunately he never got an
answer.
He used it in footnote conflicts with tables, me only in footnote
conflicts with text, trying to avoid a bad page break.

Now I ask the same: after using postpone/flushfootnotes is there a way
to *reset* this again?
