I've recently started reading about typefaces in ConTeXt, and trying out
the examples of `showfont.pdf', but stumbled upon errors for almost all
the fonts.
My installation uses teTeX-3.0 on FreeBSD:

otherwise I get errors about extra tab found etc.

This is due to the m key. m=2 tells context that there are two blocks
of equations. n=2

I found that setuptex.bat (like any bat file) sets env. vars only locally in
WinXp , that is, for current process. Other windows don't see them. TeXLive
took another approach, of setting HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Environment keys, which
act globally, and that's why it always worked well.
