Bare with me as this might take some explaining. I am running NT4 Server
SP6, Exchange 5.5 SP3, Win 2k pro SP2 and Office 97 SR2b.
After changing a WIN2K computer from a Workgroup to join a Domain I am
unable to open Outlook 97 for a standard user. I receive a message saying

Not quite an answer to your question but a solution perhaps - share each home dir instead, and point a standard drive to it (P for personal is logical...??) using profiles in NT or group policy in Win2K. Controlling access is a bit more work if you want to

users are NT workstation, share the top-level folder (Users) as a hidden share,
and use login scripts and have the following command in the logon script:

when you create web folders in IIS or use them on your PC. It is a

My NT server has suddenly stopped resolving DNS names. It's NT 4, sp 6a,
connected to a router and an ADSL line to our providers site, where there
are two DNS servers. I can ping out using IP addresses, but if I ping a
www site I get bad IP address. I have reinstalled TCP/IP and

1) For home shares, I wanted each user to map directly to their folder. I
created the Users$ folder for organization and administration.

address?
Do you have a reverse lookup zone created?
Is your DNS server set to forward an requests to your ISP dns server?

i have just started working on SMS 2.0 and I can access the Admin
Console on the SMS Server. the problem I am getting is that I want to
run the Admin Console from my workstation. I installed the console from
the SMS install and I gave my account full permissions to the server by
RTFM comes to mind. Being an SMS Administrator comes to mind also.
Just installing the admin program does not give you access to the SMS
DB.
Checking how the security is configured in SMS comes to mind also.
