After no confirmed sightings yesterday, the male Mottled Duck appeared at
the north end of Ketcham's Creek this morning around 7:30, likely having
flown in with a dozen or so other dabblers 10 or 15 minutes prior. At 7:35,
its female took off and headed NE, and the Mottled followed a few seconds

The apparent ELEGANT TERN is sitting with a mixed flock of terns and
skimmers on the beach visible close to the east from the Tiana Recreation
Area parking lot on the north side of Dune Road. Markedly smaller than
nearby Royals.

would have been visible. Should be there at dawn but gods know where it was

A nice molting adult Western WILLET found by Ann Mitchell and Gary
Kohlenberg a short while ago is still on the spit at Myers Point, Cayuga
Lake, Tompkins Co. Adult SANDERLING and juvenile SEMIPALMATED PLOVER are
also present.

An adult male TUFTED DUCK, undoubtedly the same seen several weeks ago at
the south end, is sleeping in the Aythya flock looking east off of Ladoga
Point just east of Myers Point in Lansing on Cayuga Lake.

After no confirmed sightings yesterday, the male Mottled Duck appeared at
the north end of Ketcham's Creek this morning around 7:30, likely having
flown in with a dozen or so other dabblers 10 or 15 minutes prior. At 7:35,
its female took off and headed NE, and the Mottled followed a few seconds
The flycatcher hadn't been seen since early this morning, but I was able to
refind it a bit ago at the back of an old field across the wetland from the
trail where it had previously been seen. Currently being seen in that same
spot: (41.5190758, -74.5338648).
