I used to go to Tom’s shorebird program every fall- sometimes we would top it
off with a stop at The Big Bow-Wow on Cross Bay Blvd!

I photographed one at a sewage treatment facility on Long Island in the late
70s/early 80s, but back then we all just assumed these birds were escapes. Of
