Bero you are hero !

I've checked media_info files from abf and a local mirror yandex.ru and
md5sum/sha1sum were same for each file. So either something got changed or
this is really ABF issue. Denis, Alexander can you guys help us with this
issue ?

 Hi,
the md5sum mismatch problems while building ISOs in ABF (not
reproducable locally) persisted all day, so we didn't get to build the
 final rc iso.
In the end, I've ended up disabling mirrorlist and just using the master
server as a test - this does get around the mismatch error, but obviously
isn't what we should be doing, and there's still a suspicious wget error in
 the build log.

 This is the resulting iso:
 https://abf.io/platforms/openmandriva2014.0/products/
 70/product_build_lists/3332

I'm too tired to wait for its download (3:20 am here), but please test it
-- we need to know whether or not that workaround fixes things at all
(there may be some other problem, e.g. with firewalls on abf machines not
allowing any sort of access we need anymore).

Checked

iso md5sum matches md5 file.
Integrated image check does not work, but the reason is not with iso having
a wrong md5 sum.
Starting it from debug shell manually produces PASS. So i think there is
something wrong with how it is started ( if started at all ).

Well i first build this one today:

and when i saw that everything is fine with adding repos to urpmi, i've
started normal builds, and rest story you know.

I'll try again, build KDE isos for both archs, but i have feeling it will
fail again. Today we have a release day, and it will be really WEAK if we
release ISO without default urpmi medias set.

It can happen if yandex redirects requests from ABF to some other url. But
as far as i can test it does not happen ( at least for ABF server that i

I also remember that mirror.yandex.ru is not a single server, but a pool of

That was my first thought as well, but I built new isos all day yesterday,
 and it happened 100%.
Is there any chance abf is being redirected from index.lzma to some error
page by a proxy or the likes?

For those that are not active, I don't really know what to do, but I

 Wdyt?

I'd suggest to first ask admins, and if no response remove the mirror.

Well, I put and verified 3352 on a usb key and installed from that.
There was one oddity at first boot, which flashed the Detecting unused
hardware packages message for an instant, then stopped at the login
splash screen, w/o the login box, first configuration not having been
done. I waited for a minute or two, then clicked on the gear, lower
left. There, I selected kde4. After a bit longer, I clicked on what
turned out to be the reboot icon (I don't spend much time at this
screen, typically). Next boot, removal of hardware and locale packages,
initial configuration, root and user passwords completed; login was
successful. I was able to install fglrx with XFdrake and that worked at
next boot. Logout/Power menu does not work, nothing seems to happen,
and I've seen that before. Next boot, Logout applet to reboot did
work. I noticed that software sources had been automatically added and
browsing kcontrol seemed normal. I didn't use a lot of the
installation, yet, but did not notice extraordinary breakage.

Yes Rolf,
Basically it didn't work I mean startup was hardly intuitive the previous iso
had none of these issues it just wasn't loading the default repos. Two of us
have done this on eeepcs and pretty much the same result.
To me this is broken and I wanted everyone to be sure to not take it as the RC,
quite what is causing the boot problem though is a different matter.
Best,
Colin

Hold on - are you getting that message after installation or before

To be more clear, the installation completes normally, with the
congratulations, prompt to remove installation medium, and reboot. At
first boot, there is a flash of Detecting unused hardware packages or
similar, and no further progress until I reboot, after a couple of
minutes, in this case. At second boot, the removing hardware and locale
packages message displays quite a bit longer, which I take to indicate
it completed. Also, the root password and user configuration completes,
all of which should have happened first boot. So, there was a failed
first boot, essentially, with first time configuration happening at
second boot, in this case, for what reason I don't know.

Robert the problem occurs immediately after installation on the first boot. The
system behaves like there is no user. I couldn't do what Rold did he must have
been lucky. I switched to a console logged in as root and created a user and
set a password then for good measure I set the root password and did killall X
and after that everything worked fine.
Best,
Colin

[OM Cooker] WARNING BROKEN was Re: Another new iso

2014-04-17 Thread Nicolò Costanza
Hi

I have downloaded immediately the 3352 to test it

I had a perfect working installation made with 3332:
I formatted the / to install and verify the  RC(?) iso

asap, I realized there was something really wrong,

I rebooted in Live mode and launched alert in IRC

immediately

In my opinion,

these ISOs should be deleted immediately,

or new ISOs or we can use the previous ones

bye, NicCo

Hmm... I think maybe we should prompt the user if they want to remove
unused hardware packages - because that screen showed the packages
that would be removed, IIRC, and also, removing unused hardware
packages takes a lot of time and we don't show dialogs of the process
(which maybe we can with gurpmi?)

I think the remove unused hardware packages is actually going, but no
progress shown makes the user think the system has frozen.

2014-04-17 Thread Tomasz Paweł Gajc
Panic mode off.

First nothing have changed in cruical packages responsible for install and boot
process for like one week or more.

Second information like WARNING ISO is BROKEN does not proof anything and does
not help at all with solving potential issue which happened ou of nothing. If
there is a real problem in stead of panicking please provide logs, screenshots
and detailed information what is wrong on specific bug report filled on
issues.openmandriva.org.

I will produce new ISO with disabled remove unused packages.
