Bero you are hero ! I've checked media_info files from abf and a local mirror yandex.ru and md5sum/sha1sum were same for each file. So either something got changed or this is really ABF issue. Checked https://abf.io/platforms/openmandriva2014.0/products/70/product_build_lists/3332 iso md5sum matches md5 file. Integrated image check does not work, but the reason is not with iso having a wrong md5 sum. Starting it from debug shell manually produces PASS. Re: [OM Cooker] Another new iso
Well i first build this one today: https://abf.io/platforms/openmandriva2014.0/products/82/product_build_lists/3339 and when i saw that everything is fine with adding repos to urpmi, i've started normal builds, and rest story you know. I'll try again, build KDE isos for both archs, but i have feeling it will fail again. Today we have a release day, and it will be really WEAK if we release ISO without default urpmi medias set. 2014-04-17 11:47 GMT+02:00 Александр Бурмашев alex.burmas...@gmail.com: Thx, now i see it. It can happen if yandex redirects requests from ABF to some other url. But as far as i can test it does not happen ( at least for ABF server that i have access to ). Well, I put and verified 3352 on a usb key and installed from that. There was one oddity at first boot, which flashed the Detecting unused hardware packages message for an instant, then stopped at the login splash screen, w/o the login box, first configuration not having been done. I waited for a minute or two, then clicked on the gear, lower left. There, I selected kde4. After a bit longer, I clicked on what turned out to be the reboot icon (I don't spend much time at this screen, typically). Next boot, removal of hardware and locale packages, initial configuration, root and user passwords completed; login was successful. I was able to install fglrx with XFdrake and that worked at next boot. Logout/Power menu does not work, nothing seems to happen, and I've seen that before. Next boot, Logout applet to reboot did work. I noticed that software sources had been automatically added and browsing kcontrol seemed normal. I didn't use a lot of the installation, yet, but did not notice extraordinary breakage. Rolf On 04/17/2014 04:05 PM, Colin Close wrote: WARNING: This iso is broken we don't know why but it is. Re: [OM Cooker] WARNING BROKEN was Re: Another new iso
Yes Rolf, Basically it didn't work I mean startup was hardly intuitive the previous iso had none of these issues it just wasn't loading the default repos. Two of us have done this on eeepcs and pretty much the same result. To me this is broken and I wanted everyone to be sure to not take it as the RC, quite what is causing the boot problem though is a different matter. To be more clear, the installation completes normally, with the congratulations, prompt to remove installation medium, and reboot. At first boot, there is a flash of Detecting unused hardware packages or similar, and no further progress until I reboot, after a couple of minutes, in this case. At second boot, the removing hardware and locale packages message displays quite a bit longer, which I take to indicate it completed. Also, the root password and user configuration completes, all of which should have happened first boot. So, there was a failed first boot, essentially, with first time configuration happening at second boot, in this case, for what reason I don't know. Rolf

Robert the problem occurs immediately after installation on the first boot. The system behaves like there is no user. I couldn't do what Rold did he must have been lucky. I switched to a console logged in as root and created a user and set a password then for good measure I set the root password and did killall X and after that everything worked fine. Best, Colin

There was one oddity at first boot, which flashed the Detecting unused hardware packages message for an instant, then stopped at the login splash screen, w/o the login box, first configuration not having been done. Hold on - are you getting that message after installation or before installation? (as in during installation or on first boot?) To be more clear, the installation completes normally, with the congratulations, prompt to remove installation medium, and reboot. Rolf Hmm... I think maybe we should prompt the user if they want to remove unused hardware packages - because that screen showed the packages that would be removed, IIRC, and also, removing unused hardware packages takes a lot of time and we don't show dialogs of the process (which maybe we can with gurpmi?) I think the remove unused hardware packages is actually going, but no progress shown makes the user think the system has frozen. -- cheers, Robert :: protocol.by/rxu
Re: [OM Cooker] WARNING BROKEN was Re: Another new iso
Panic mode off. First nothing have changed in cruical packages responsible for install and boot process for like one week or more. Second information like WARNING ISO is BROKEN does not proof anything and does not help at all with solving potential issue which happened ou of nothing. If there is a real problem in stead of panicking please provide logs, screenshots and detailed information what is wrong on specific bug report filled on issues.openmandriva.org. I will produce new ISO with disabled remove unused packages. I've workarounded this issue by using --wget and --no-md5sum options on urpmi.addmedia So here you go a fresh RC1 builds: 32bit: https://abf.io/platforms/openmandriva2014.0/products/71/product_build_lists/3354 64bit: https://abf.io/platforms/openmandriva2014.0/products/70/product_build_lists/3352 Bero please upload them on openmandriva.sourceforge.net into new folder called RC1 and mark those files as staging (hidden but already there ;)
