HI All,
Thanks for your suggestions. But all the NFS services are running on my system
and the server also. Is there any possibility that any port used by mount
utility is blocked from Admin ( Making a wild guess) or is there something like
ACL issue?
Thanks

I attend to make small network x86/amd64 server using Solaris 10 U6 or

Idea was to use 2 usb sticks as zfs mirrored rootpool and no harddisks at all.
Anyone know guides how to make this setup or is it possible at all ?
Thanks

With this you can add as many external (right now up to 2 TB per unit)
hdd's, Blue ray, DVD-RW or Nikon-Digital Cameras, as your fantasylets
you imagine.
Put ZFS onto the 2TB hdd's and build a small zpool.

Hello,
What are the various possible caching modes? How can we configure SSD caching?
Is memory caching more to do with L2 cache?

As a Solaris process has multiple threads of control, you can't change the

You get the registers through getting the lwpstatus file:

I have installed 2008.11 live CD and it is running fine for the most part
except when I shut down.
I am used to getting a bunch of shutdown messages, the last of which tells me
its OK to power off the system (or something like that). I think the server
even used to power down automatically.

Paul,
Try restart of rpc service in NFS server (10.101.140.117) and give it a
try at client side.
In Solaris 10,
svcadm disable rpc/bind ( to Stop)
svcadm enable rpc/bind ( Start)
svcs -x rpc/bind ( to get the status).
Prior to Solaris 10,
/etc/init.d/rpcbind stop
/etc/init.d/rpcbind start.
