Hi guys,
The My Site webapp in our stage farm has just died and throws up the magical
Error screen on any page I try to load.
Found the following in the ULS logs. Any ideas are most welcome.

Hi All,
I am looking for a way to customise the My Site Quicklaunch, any clues
where I can customize this, add new menu items and apply to all existing
(visible to all) new/users?
Thanks,

Yes we do. The memberships and My Links list are both correct and present.
Clicking the Set as default My Site link has mixed results. With some people
the link disappears. With others it doesn't. In neither case does it resolve
the local problem with My SharePoint Sites folder.
About to try

I made this guide for the two users who cared.
I tried everything I could find on the net with no luck. You could probally
deploy these shortcuts using GP Prefs if you have some global ones.

Hi all,
I recently enabled Site Use Confirmation and Deletion for our My Site
collection in an effort to keep up with dead sites through staff attrition.
Anyway, upon receiving this email a special user, let's call him John, opted to
delete his site accidentally. Moreover, he chose to close
this directly.

Hi all,
Can anyone explain how the Memberships submenu (shown below) is populated?
I have not added any of these sites manually, and I am in the site member group
for each site listed, so am wondering how/why SharePoint decides which ones
should fall under Memberships.
There is another solution - by adding a control on the my site home page. Since
that home page is ghosted (runs from the hard drive) you can edit it, add the
control, which checks the theme and if it is not the right one sets it.
There is even a codeplex project that did the coding for you
Or do it programmatically after the fact. Don’t ask me how though.
You could programatically access each My Site site collection, then access
the root web in each and run the ApplyTheme method
SPWeb.ApplyTheme(*Theme_ID*)
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library
Also, My Profile / My Home pages within My Site seem to use separate
Site Themes...this is all seems a little too confusing to me :S

If you look at the URL for Profile pages you'll see that they all come off the

If you apply a them to the top-level site then this should certainly affect all
Profile pages.
The My Home link is a personal site and the homepage for individual sites -

Hey All,
Just wondering if there is a way to apply a theme to everyone's My

to do this globally.
Also there doesn't seem to be any links what so ever to take the user's

I have found this KB Meir, which seems related to your My Site language
issue: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949003
Consider the following scenario. You install the English version of
Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. Additionally, you install some
language packs. You create a My Site Web
I set the ability for the user to chose the language for creating My Site in
the SSP.
But no meter what the language the user select the My Site creates in
English.
Any idea?

Apologies! I didn't read your question correctly Meir.
You could maybe check the following:
My Site root site collection regional options,
http://mysite/_layouts/regionalsetng.aspx,
which is probably set to English (United States).
In another farm - create a new My Site host site collection
