Hello, I am having a problem trying to send voice clips over Windows Live
Messenger. I am using Windows 7 and whenever I try to send a voice clip, it
tells me that it can't send it because no sound was detected. I think it has
something to do with the fact that the recording source I want to use
need to configure the audio through the
audio and video setup on the tools menu.

Hello Vicky, unfortunately there is no way to hear only one part of a song,
as it has already been mixed down and mastered to 2 tracks. The only way you
can try is to try cancelling the vocals, but that won't give you just the
part you want. It may give you that part with some drums or something,
Echo is when sound waves bounce back from hard surfaces. Reverb is when you
get lots of those reflections of sound waves, making the type of echo you
would get in a room. The reverb in Goldwave is really poor. You may wish to
use a plug-in for better reverb. Hope this helps.

and whenever I plug in a microphone, be it USB or direct, I get latency when
listening to it through headphones , and that causes problems when
recording, mainly that the echo is very distracting. Does anyone know why

Well, I don't tend to use built-in microphones, I have noticed that with the
Soundman or Roland CS10EM in ear microphones, the sound quality is really

I have actually been considering moving from Goldwave to another audio
editor, and after hearing some bad reviews of Adobe Audition's compatibility
with screen readers, I think Sound Forge might be my best bet. Is there a
guide available for how to use it with a screen reader?
