that goes along with it is probably one of the most poorly-worded error messages I've ever seen. So if you run into this sort of thing, be sure to read the iTunes sreens very carefully, so you'll be able to tell how many tones you're syncing. In short it works and I'm very happy with the results

Yes you can. I don't have iTunes myself, but I've been to sites that have links to listen to streams that are marked iTunes and (often) Winamp, both mentioned for the same stream. For example, you can set your Shoutcast streams to play in iTunes. Sometimes they're mentioned in separate links

I can assure you that iTunes and VLC have Graphic Equalisers in them and I would imagine that Windows Media Player would have similar, some sound cards and the Windows sound system itself usually offer bass and treble controls though how accessible these may be can very much depend
