1 - right.  You can't fix this without refactoring the canvas_motion stuff in g_editor.c.  I'm still not sure why these events are handled in c and not with tk bindings. 2 - There isn't a key combination that will delete it (and doesn't cmd-Backspace just delete the previous word anyway?).
