What was a switch on the D is on the K10D (AF point selection, metering
type). They moved the stuff from the mode dial (Which was a UI atrocity)
to the Fn Menu (Which works very well).

Reports/rumors elsewhere were that:
1. Pentax was still working on the firmware until a few days ago.
2. Production assembly started on 11 October.
If true, and it sounds like the reports were, this delay was inevitable.
