I regularly use the FA 35/2 on the K-5 or K-70 when I prefer to have a compact set with me. I'm always happy with the results. Reading the positive test results from Yoshihiko Takinami on his website was the reason for me to buy this lens around the millennium change. Remarkably his website

I have had one since it was first announced and guard it zealously. I'd imagine other owners are just as protective. Looking at my current catalog, I see it is eclipsed only by the FA50 1.4 in number of photos produced. I'm not certain how many were produced but I'm damn glad I got one. On

Yes, the aperture mechanism is dirty/gummed up: the lens needs a CLA (clean, lubricate, adjust) service. The auto-aperture actuating lever should snap back instantly, somewhere around 10-20 milliseconds max. Half a second is almost literally forever in terms of these mechanisms. G > On
